AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING ON THE WEST SIDE OF
VIRGINIA AVENUE BETWEEN BEECHWOOD AVENUE AND
ELMWOOD AVENUE,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of 1939, as amended, there was presented to the City Council
of the City o£ Lynwood, California, a petition d.ated May 3, 1963,
executed by Isabel Talbert, et al, requesting the annexation of
certain property lying on the west side of Virginia Avenue between
Beechwood Avenue and Elmwood Avenue in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, and hereinafter particularly described, and.
WHEREAS, the City Council of said city, by Resolution No,
63-38, adopted on the 21st day of May, 1963, duly gave notice of and
fixed the 2nd day of July, 1963, at 7:30 p,m, in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, as the day,
hour, and place when and where any person owning real property in such
territory so proposed. to be annexed and having any obJections to the
proposed annexation might appear before said City Council and show
cause why such territory should not be so annexed, and
WHEREAS, said resolution was published in the Lynwood Press,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City
o£ Lynwood, and also in the Herald American, a newspaper of general
circulation published outside of the City of Lynwood but in the County
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, written notice of said proposed annexation was
mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to
be annexed was assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll
at the address shown on said assessment roll, and.
WF~'REAS, no protests were filed, and.
WI~REAS, said City Council approves the annexation of said.

territory to the City of Lynwood, and
WI-~REAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with law,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
ordain as follows:
Section l, That pursuant to the "Annexation o£ Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939" as amend.ed, the annexation of that certain
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County o£ Los
Angeles, State of California, designated as "Atlantic Avenue Annexation
No. 3," as hereinafter more particularly described hereby, is approved,
Said territory lying on the west side of Virginia Avenue
between Beechwood Avenue and Elmwood Avenue, and in the County of
Los Angeles, State of Cali£ornia, and lying within the following
described boundaries:
Beginning at a point in the easterly line of the
Lynwood city boundary as said boundary existed on
February 26, 1963, said point being the southeast
corner of Lot 72, Tract No. 7984, as shown on map
recorded in Map Book 90, pages 34, 35 and 36, Records
of Los Angeles County, State of California; thence
South 7~° 57~ 5~" East 135 feet to the southeast
corner of Lot 163 of said. tract; thence North 19°
OOI East 180 feet to the northeast corner of Lot 165
of said tract; thence North 70° 57a 5o" West along
the northerly line of said Lot 165 and the westerly
prolongation thereof 135 £eet to the easterly line
of said Lynwood city bound.ary; thence South 19° OOZ
West 180 feet to the point of beginning,
Section 2, The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed.
to certi£y to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to
be published once in the Lynwood Press,a newspaper of general circu-
lation, printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood,
First read at a regular meeting o£ the City Council of
said city held on the 2nd. day of July, i963, and finally adopted and.

16th day of July, i963, by the £ollowing vote;
