"e1 <r r �) - _ t�c -.rly dE ;rir:ed, and ty r,[ 1 of sad city ay lotion R� . a "^ 62 -74 , ,�;, day of I�To,rember, 1 962, . duly gave notice F' and fix d the 1 8th day <> 1 ec ;- ^ber 1 + a, 7.30 p.m, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 11330 Buliis Road, Lynwood, California, as the day, hour, and place when and where any person owning real. property in such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation might appear before said City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed, and WHEREAS, said resolution, was published in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Lynwood, and also in the Herald American, a newspaper of general circulation pAblished outside of the City of Lynwood but in the County in which is located the teritory proposed to be annexed, and WHEREAS, written notice of said proposed annexation was mailed to each person to whn and within the territory proposed to be annexed was assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll at the addre' >s shc'wn cn said assessment roll, and WHEREAS, no protests were filed, and WHEREAS, said City Council. approves the annexation of said .-I - Fernwood #1 territory to the City of Lynwood, and WHEREAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with law, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as follows: Section 1 , That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" as amended, the annexation of that certain terri- tory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, designated as " Fernwood Avenue Annexation No, 1" as hereinafter more particularly described hereby is approved. Said territory lying on the west side of Atlantic Avenue between Fernwood Avenue and Josephine Street, and in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, and lying within the following described boundaries: Beginning at a point in the southerly line of the Lynwood city boundary,as said boundary existed on August 30, 1962, said point being distant North 62° 261 15" West 30,364 feet and North 19 East 134 feet, more or less, from the southwest corner of Lot 8, Tract No, 8716 as shown on map recorded in Book 145, pages 63 and 64 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of California, said point being also the intersection of said southerly line with the northerly prolongation of the center line of First 60 feet wide, as shown on said tract map; thence South 62° 261 15" East along said southerly line 325 feet to the intersection of the center line of Atlantic Avenue, 90 feet wide, as shown on said tract map; thence South 19° West along said last mentioned center line 389 feet to the intersection of the easterly prolongation of the northerly line of Josephine Street, 80 feet wide, shown as Santa Ana Boulevard on said tract map; thence North 71 07t 15" West along said last mentioned prolongation and northerly line 160 feet to the intersection of the center line of the first alley West of Atlantic Avenue, 20 feet wide, as -2- Fernwood #1 shown on said tract map; thence North 19 East along said last mentioned center line 300 feet to the inter- section of the easterly prolongation of the south line of Lot 8 of said tract; thence westerly along said pro- longation, said south line of Lot 8 and the westerly prolongation of the south line of said Lot 8 North 71° c7t 15" west 159 feet to the intersection of the center line of First Averue, 60 feet wide, as shown on said tract map; thence Nerth 19 East 138 feet along said last mentioned center lin( to the point of beginning Se ction 2 , Th.1s ordinance is urgently required for the Immediate preservation of pe,;.blic peace, health, and safety in the City of Lynwood,`.and shall be in effect immediately upon adoption. The following is !,a specific statement showing the emergency of this c_ °dinance; That i' the City ;£ Lynwood is to adequately and efficiently administer the said newly annexed territory, it must have sufficient revenue to do so; that the city and county real property taxes become a lien on February 1, 1963; that if the within ordinance does not become effective before February 1, 1963, the city will have no jurisdiction to assess a tax upon the real property annexed until February 1, 1964, Section 3 , The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circu- lation, printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood. Approved and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lynwood held on the 18th day of December, 1962, by the following vote; Ayes: Councilmen Duncan, Finch, Ham, McMillan, Rowe.
