ORDINANCE N0. 716
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD INCREAS-
ING THE SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN MAJOR PUBLIC
STREETS ABOVE THE MINIMUM ESTABLISHED STATE
SPEED LIMIT OF 25 MILES PER HOUR AS DEFINED
IN THE VEHICLE CODE
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
ordain as follows:
Section 1: Increa.se in State I,a.w Minimum Speed. It
is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and
traffic investigation that the minimum speed permitted by
state law in certain business and residential districts in the
city of Lynwood shall be increased to a speed limit declared
to be reasonable and safe, and which will be conducive to the
orderly movement of vehicular traffic under the conditions found
to exist upon such streets, and it is hereby declared that the
prima facie speed limit shall be as herein set forth on those
streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice
thereof:

Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once
in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation printed
and circulated in the city of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said city held on the 21st day of February , 1961,
