BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING '%r
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2015 AT 7:00PM
TOWN HALL, ROOM A
Board members present: Lemuel Skidmore,MS,MPH,Chairman;Carmen Scherzo, DVM, Vice Chairman;Annie Dugan,RN and
Joe Ford.
Board members absent:Mary Chaffee, RN,PhD
Others present:Nancy Ellis Ice,MPH,CHO,RS,Health Director and Tammi Mason,Senior Department Assistant
1. Chairman's announcements
Mr.Skidmore told the Board that the flu clinic will be held at Our Lady of the Cape Church on November 5th from 10-12.
2. Update on the use of addendum pages for Real Estate Transfer Inspection report
Mrs. Ice told the Board that she had only two reports come in so far with the new addendum pages and that there has not been any
issues.
3. Discuss the draft Pond Nutrient regulation
Mr.Skidmore stated that because the Board received information rather late that this discussion will be held off.
4. Discuss the new draft of the Small Wastewater Treatment Facility regulation
Mrs. Ice went over the proposed changes.
Mr. Skidmore stated that the Board needed to figure out what the definition of a SWWTF is.
Dr. Scherzo stated that I/A systems would be needed to get to the"10 parts per million" allowed.
Mrs. Ice asked the Board if they would like David Michnovicz to take a look at the proposed regulation. The Board said they would.
The Board agreed to have Mrs. Ice make some revisions and have Mr. Michnovicz take a look at it and then bring it back before the
Board.
5. Discuss banning smoking on beaches
There was brief discussion on this issue. No decision was made as the whole Board was not present. This will be brought up again at
another meeting.
6. Topics the Chairman did not anticipate
Dr.Scherzo asked that Manganese in drinking water wells be added to the next agenda for discussion. He would like it to be included
in the routine water testing that homeowner's do. Mrs. Ice stated that she would talk with the lab director and ask what it would take
to add that to a routine test.
