Medlin Art Gallery Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Ribbon
Cutting Ceremony on Friday, December 5, 2014
Leesburg, VA (December 2, 2014) – Medlin Art Gallery will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a
ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by Leesburg Mayor Kristen Umstattd on Friday, December 5,
2014, at 4:30pm. Medlin Art Gallery is located at 2 Loudoun Street SE in downtown Leesburg.
Medlin Art Gallery opened in the newly opened Market Station in downtown Leesburg in 1986.
After ten years, owner Shirley Medlin purchased the Silver Fox Gallery in Leesburg and
combined the two galleries in Medlin’s current location on Loudoun Street. Leesburg’s
Economic Development Director, Marantha Edwards, added “Medlin Art’s presence in
downtown Leesburg has been a bright light along Loudoun Street and 30 years is a tremendous
milestone for a small business”.
When asked about the key to the gallery’s success, Medlin replied, “New printing practices
have created new interest in art and in purchasing art works. While the economy has certainly
made our business more difficult, we at Medlin Art have grown our customer base by selling art
by known artists in a variety of media.”
“For thirty years, we’ve purchased and sold thousands of pieces of art. Every customers is as
important to us as the first one who walked through our doors,” she continued. “Whether
selling art or designing custom framing for artwork, photos or family heirlooms, pleasing our
customers has been the key to growing our business here in Leesburg.”
