RESOLUTION APPROVING MSA PROFESSIONAL SERVICES' AGREEMENT
FOR REVIEW FOR WOODS ESTATES 3RD ADDITION DEDICATION OF
ROADWAYS AND UTILITIES
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a municipal corporation, organized and operating under
the laws of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the public infrastructure located in the third phase of the Woods Estates of Riverdale housing
subdivision is complete and construction of homes in the phase is currently underway; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of both Woods Construction ("Developer") and the City to proceed with
the process of reviewing, inspecting, evaluating, accepting, and adopting the public improvements made
by the Developer in the third phase of its subdivision so that the stormwater, sewer, utility, and roadway
improvements can be managed and maintained by the City as part of its regular ongoing operations;
and,
WHEREAS, prior to accepting these public infrastructure improvements, the City's engineer, MSA
Professional Services ("Engineer") must review, evaluate, and actively manage the various component
parts that make up the public improvements so they can be conveyed to the City in good order and with
the required financial and quality guarantee; and,
WHEREAS, Engineer has provide a project proposal to provide the required services in the estimated
cost of up to $9,000; and,
WHEREAS, said Engineering costs of up to $9,000 are qualified costs that can be reimbursed by the tax
increment generated by the project and collected by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the funding source for this action is 125-520-6407 - TIF Engineering.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA,
THAT:
SECTION 1: The proposed Professional Services Agreement is approved, and the Mayor and Clerk are
authorized to execute the Agreement.
SECTION 2: Expenditures of no more than $9,000 are authorized to provide the professional services
outlined in the Engineer's Agreement.

SECTION 3: The Clerk is directed to prepare documents for review by the Planning and Zoning
Commission so they can pass their recommendation on to City Council for acceptance of
the public infrastructure to be conveyed by the developer to the City once all the public
improvements are complete and judged to be in good order by both the Engineer and the
Planning and Zoning Commission.
