Leesburg Offers Christmas Tree Recycling to Town Residents
Leesburg, VA (December 23, 2014) – The Town of Leesburg’s solid waste collection contractor,
CSI, will collect non-artificial Christmas trees from residential customers as part of their regular
recycling collection on the following days:
• Southeast & Southwest Quadrants: Thursdays, January 8st & January 15th
• Northeast & Northwest Quadrants: Fridays, January 9th & January 16th
Please place Christmas trees at the curb before 6:00 a.m. on the day of collection and prepare
trees for collection using the following guidelines:
• Remove all decorations from trees, including tinsel, angel hair and fake snow. Please
check carefully for items hidden behind thicker branches or limbs.
• Remove all lights.
• Remove all twine, string and metal or plastic ties.
• Remove stands and bases.
• Do not place in plastic or “Christmas Tree Disposal” bags.
Before January 8th and after January 16th, Christmas trees with a trunk size of less than 6 inches
in diameter will be collected as part of the Town’s regular brush collection. Please follow the
above guidelines and place trees at curb by Monday evening.
