Home My Public Portal About096-2002 - Grant - Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County ORDINANCE NO- 96- 2002 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE PARTNERSHIP FOR A DRUG FREE WAYNE COUNTY WHEREAS, the Partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to assist with the D.A.R.E. Summer Camp, D.A.R.E. Program (K-8th Grade), Body Armor for Crisis Negotiation Team and Safety Equipment for the Richmond S.W.A.T. Team. WHEREAS, no local match is required for this grant. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the partnership for a Drug Free Wayne County to help pay for the D.A.R.E. Summer Camp, D.A.R. Program (K-8th Grade), Body Armor for Crisis Negotiation Team, and Safety Equipment for the Richmond S.W.A.T. Team. 2. The City of Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Eighteen Thousand Five Dollars ($18,500.00). 3. Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated as follows: D.A.R.E. Summer Camp/Day & Overnight - $5,000.00 D.A.R.E. Program (K-8th Grade) - $9,000.00 Body Armor for Crisis Negotiation Team - $1,500.00 Safety Equipment for the Richmond S.W.A.T.
