ORDINANCE N0. 663 ~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA
AMENDING SECTION 5.03.4, CHAPTER V, OF ORDIIVANCE
N0. 618, .REGULATING CLOSING-OUT, .BANKRUPT, FIRE
SALES,.AND,SALES OF A SIMILAR NATURE,
The City Council of the City of Lynwood. does ordain as

follows:
Section 1': Tha Section 5.03:4, Chapter V, of 'Ord.inance
No. 618 shall be amended. to read. as follows:
"5.03.4. .Closing-Out, Bankrupt, Fire Sales, and. Sales of
a Similar Nature. $100.00-per month or $25,,,00 per d.ay, at the option
of the licensee, for every person, firm, or corporation managing,
conducting, or carrying on .any closing-out sale, going out of business
sale, bankrupt sale, or any sale of a similar nature where it is
advertised., or represented. to convey to the public the belief that the
sale will be for the disposal of goods, wares, or merchandise and. the
business will cease or discontinue, or to any sale of goods, wares,
or merchandise damaged. by fire, ,smoke, or water.
"Provided., however, no additional license fee shall be
required where said. person, firm, or corporation has been engaged in
business in the City of Lynwood .continuously for a period. of not less
than one year and. that said. closing-out, bankrupt, or similar sale is
for the purpose of disposing of his stock on hand. and. of closing out
his business, or to where goods, wares or merchandise have been actually
damaged.by fire, smoke, or water within the City of Lynwood..
"The applicant shall, at the time of making such application
for a special permit, submit a notarized. inventory including date of
purchase of the goods, wares, or merchandise to be sold. at said. proposed.
sale. No other articles other than the bona fide part of the applicantxs
stock in trade .and. listed. on the originally-submitted. inventory list
may be brought in for said proposed. sale. No permit shall be granted.

legal authority.
"Application filing fee $25.00."
Section 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and. adoption of this ordinance, and shall cause the same to be
published once ih the Lynwood. Press, a weekly newspaper published.,
printed., and. circulated. in the City of Lynwood, California.
First read. at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 4th day of June, 1957, and finally adopted.
and. ordered published. at an adjourned. regular meeting of said. Council
held. on the 10th day of June, 1957, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pend.er, Summers.
