AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD OF CER-
TAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS °OZELL
MANOR ANNEXATION N0, 8" WHICH IS CONTIGUOUS TO
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the."Annexation Act
of 1913° and. pursuant to Resolution No. 2732 adopted by the City
Council of the City of Lynwood. on the 19th d.ay of March, 1957, a
special annexation election was held. on the 14th day of May, 1957
in that certain inhabited. territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood.
designated. as "Ozell Manor Annexation No. 8," and. which is hereinafter
more particularly described, and.
WHEREAS, at said. special annexation election the following
question wa.s submitted to the qualified. electors residing in said.
territory:
"SHALL OZELL MANOR ANNEXATION N0, S BE ANNEXED T0,
INCORPORATED IN, AND MADE A PART OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD?"
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of the
votes cast at said. specia annexation election.that.a majority of all
votes cast in said. territory on the question of said. annexation favor
annexation to, incorporation in, and becoming a part of the City of
Lynwood., and
WHEREAS, it appears that said. special election and all pro-
ceed.ings relating thereto have been conducted. strictly in accordance
with law,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
does ordain as follows:
Section l: That the annexation of that certain inhabited
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, designated. as °Ozel1
Manor Annexation No. 8" which was submitted a.t tha e„A~;a~ ~„no„~,-;,.~
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Traet No. 17484
as shown on map recorded. in Book 424, pages 43 and. 44 of Maps,
Records of Los Angeles County, California, said point being on the
boundary line of the City of Lynwood. as said boundary line existed.
October 22, 1956; thence northerly along said. boundary line and.
following the same in all its various courses to its intersection
with the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 67 of
Tract No. 11632, as shown on map recorded. in Book 210, pages 29 and
30 of Maps, Records of said. County, said. last described. line being
on the boundary line of the.City of Compton as said. boundary existed.
October 22, 1956; thence southerly in a direct line through the
southeasterly corner of Lot 54 of said Traet No. 11632 to the center
line of Olanda Street, 60 feet wide, as shown on said last mentioned
map; thence westerly along said. last mentioned. center line and. the
westerly prolongation thereof to its intersection with. the afore- °
mentioned. boundary line of the City of Compton; thence northerly along
said. last mentioned. boundary line and following the same in all its
various courses to the point of beginning.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall take .effect immedia e1y
in aecord.ance with the terms of Section 36937 of the Government Code
of the State of California.
Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby ordered. and. directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and. to cause the same to
be published. once in the Lynwood. Press, a newspaper of general circu-
lation, printed., published., and circulated. in the City of Lynwood..
First read. at a regular meeting of the .City Council of said.
City held. on the 21st d.ay of May, 1957, and finally adopted. and. ordered.
published. at the regular meeting of said. Council held. on the 4th day
` of June, 1957, by the following vote:
