ORDINANCE NO. 648
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING SOUTHERLY OF CEN-
TURY BOULEVARD AND EASTERLY OF WRIGHT ROAD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the !'Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1839", there was presented. to the City Council
of the City of Lynwood., balifornia, a petition dated March 30, 1956
executed by Mrs. Ella May Perry and. five others, requesting. the
annexation of certain property lying southerly of Century Boulevard.
and. easterly of Wright Road .in the; County of Los Angeles, State of
California,.and. hereinafter particularly d.escribed., and.
_ WHEREAS,. the City Council of said city d.id by Resolution
No. 2643 adopted. on the 17th d.ay of April, 1956, duly gave notice
of and fixed. the 6th d.ay of June, 1956 at 8:00 p.m, in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood., California,
as the d.ay, hour, and. place when and. where any person owning real
property in such territory so proposed. to be annexed. and. having any
objections to the proposed. annexation might appear before said city
council and. show cause why such territory should. not be so annexed.,
and
WHEREAS, said. resolution was published. in the Lynwood.
Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed. and. published.
in the City of Lynwood., and also in the Herald American, a newspaper
of general circulation published. outside of the City of Lynwood but
in the county in which is located. the territory proposed. to be
annexed, and.
WHEREAS, written notice of said. proposed. annexation was
mailed. to each person to whom land. within the territory proposed. to
be annexed. was assessed. in the last equalized. county assessment roll
at the address shown on said. assessment roll,.and
WHEREAS, no protests have been filed, and.
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with
law,

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City ~f Lynwood
does ordain as follows:
Section l: That pursuant to the."Annexation of Uninhabited.
Territory Act of 1939"as amended; the annexation of that certain terri-
tory contiguous to the City of Lynwood. in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California., designated as "Wrigh~ Road. Annexation No. 10" as
hereinafter more particularly d.escribed., hereby is approved..
Said. territory lyng~southerly~df Century Boulevard and
easterly of Wright Roadland. in the County of Los Angeles, State of
California., and. lying within the following described. lines:
.Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line
of Wright Road, 33 feet wide,,and the southerly line
of Century Boulevard (formerly Morton Road.), 55 feet
wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 10634 recorded. in
.Book 165, pages 40, 41, and. 42 of Maps, Records of
Los Angeles County, California, said. point being on
the boundary line of the City of Lynwood. as said.
boundary line existed. March 7, 1956; thence southerly
along said boundary line and. following the same in
all its various courses to the easterly line of that
~ portion of Wright Road., 50 feet wide, shown on said.
map as having a bearing of North 20°10125" East;
thence southerly along the southerly prolongation of
said. easterly line to the easterly prolongation of
said. southerly line of Century Boulevard., 55 feet wide;
thence westerly in a direct line to the point of beginning.
Section 2: The City Clerk is hereby ordered. and. d.irected-
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to
be published. once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circu-
lation, printed., published., and. circulated in the City of Lynwood..
First read. at a regular meeting of the City Council of said.
city held. on the 6th day of June, 1956, and. finally adopted and. ordered
published. at a regular meeting of said. Council held. on the 19th d.ay
of June, 1956 by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Compton, Finch, McMeekin, Pend.er, Summers.
Noes: Councilmen None.
