ORDINANCE N0. 634
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING ON THE EAST SIDE
OF LOUISE AVENUE AND SOUTHERLY OF CORTLAND
STREET.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 193," as amended, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood did by Resolution No. 2608 adopted on the 19th day of July,
1955, initiate proceedings for annexation by said City of certain
uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County
of Los Angeles lying on the. east side of Louise Avenue and southerly
of Cortland Street and hereinafter particularly described, and
WHEREAS, by said Resolution published in the Lynwood Press,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City
of Lynwood, and also in the Herald American, a newspaper og general
circulation published outside of the City of Lynwood but in the County
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed, the City
Council of the City of Lynwood duly gave notice of and fixed the
'.6th day of September, 1955 at 8:0o p.m, in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, as the day, hour,
and place when and where any person owning real property in such
territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the
proposed annexation might appear before said City Council and show
cause why such territory should not be so annexed; and
WHEREAS, no protests have been filed; and
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with law;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does ordain as follows:
Section 1: That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1839° as amended, the annexation of that certain
uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County
of Los Angeles, State of California, designated as "Wright Road
Annexation No, g" as hereinafter more particularly described, hereby
is approved.

Said territory lying on the east side of Louise Avenue
and southerly of Cortland Street in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, within the following described lines:
Beginning at a point on the southerly line of Lot 5,
Slausson Tract as shown on map recorded in Book 3,
page 348 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California, distant thereon 593.58 feet
easterly of the easterly line of Wright Road, 33
feet wide, as shown on map filed in Book 43, page
44 of Record of Surveys in the office of the
Recorder of said county, said point being on the
boundary line of the City of Lynwood as said
boundary line existed June 14th, 1955; thence northerly
along said boundary line and following the same in all
its various courses to its intersection with a line
having a bearing and length of North 17°41~ East
515.02 feet; thence southerly along said line to the
southerly line of said Lot 5; thence easterly in a
direct line to the point of beginning.
Section 2: The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same
to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published and circulated in the City of
Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 6th day of September, 1955 and finally adopted
and ordered published at an adjourned. regular meeting of said Council
held on the 12th day of September, 1955, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Bruner, McMeekin, Pearson
Pender, and: Willard.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen
