HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0624 e ORDINANCE N0. 624 follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTION 154 OF ORDINANCE N0. 493 BY PROVIDING FOR TEMPORARY PERMITS FOR ALL NIGHT PARKING IN CASES OF EXTREME HARDSHIPS AND REPEALING ORDIN- ANCE NO. 574• The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as Section l: That Soction 154 of Lynwood Ordinance No. 493 is hereby amended to read. as follows: "Section 154: All Night Parking Prohibited. Exception -- Permit Required. No person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle on any street for a period of time longer than two hours between the hours of 1:00 a.m, and 6:00 a.m, of any day except in accordance with an all night parking permit attached to such vehicle as herein- after provided. "Section 154.1: Same. Application. Each application for an all night parking permit shall be filed in writing with the Traffic Authority upon a form to be furnished by him and shall be accompanied by a receipt of an investigation fee in the sum of $7.50 paid to the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood.. Each such application shall set forth the name and. address of the applicant; the location of the place of residence of the applicant; the license number and motor vehicle number of the vehicle; the make, model and type of vehicle; the necessity for the permit requested; and such other information as the Traffic Authority may require. "Section 154.2: Same. Investigation. Upon the filing of each such application, the Traffic Authority shall cause to be made such investigation as he may deem proper to ascertain whether such permit should be granted. If, after such investigation, the Traffic Authority determines that there is not adequate off-street parking space reasonably obtainable by the applicant at the place of his residence or within six hundred feet thereof, for the parking of the vehicle described in the application in order to comply with -1- Section 154, an all night parking permit shall be granted for one year from the date said. permit is granted. Should said permit be denied, the investigation fee shall not be refuhded. "Section 154.3: Same. Renewal. If, at the expiration of the term provided for in the permit, the permittee desires to renew the same, the same procedure shall be followed. as provided herein for the obtaining of the original permit, except as follows: "If the permittee shall file application for a renewal of a permit with the Traffic Authority at least ten days before the expiration of the term thereof, the investigation fee shall be One Dollar ($1.00). "Section 154,4: Same. Substituted Vehicle. If a permittee surrenders an unexpired permit for a certain vehicle, he may obtain a permit for a substituted vehicle for the unexpired term upon payment of a fee of $1.00." Section 2: Ordinance No. 574 of the City of Lynwood is hereby repealed. ` Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published. once in the Lynwood Press, a weekly newspaper published, printed, and circulated in the City of Lynwood, California.
