HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 06160 Y ORDINANCE N0. 616 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING SECTIONS NUMBERS 2, 4, AND 5 OF ORDINANCE N0. 511 OF SAID CITY. The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as follows: Section l: That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 511 shall be amended. to read as follows: "Section 2: COLLECTIONS BY WATER DEPARTMENT. The Water Department shall issue all orders for the furnishing or discontinu- ance of water service, keep all accounts with respect to water ser- vice, and shall be responsible for the supervision and collection of all bills for water service. "The proceeds of all collections for water service or other charges made the previous day shall be deposited on the succeed- ing day with the City Treasurer. "The Water Department is also authorized to collect the trash and garbage collection charges provided for in Ordinance No. 433 as now or hereafter amended, and the City Treasurer shall deposit funds from such trash and garbage charges upon receipt thereof from the Water Department, in the General Fund of the City. The Water Department shall report bi-monthly the amount of receipts received by and turned over to the City 'Preasurer, indicating separately the amount allocated to Water Service and the amount allocated to trash and. garbage charges.°' Section 2: That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 511 shall be amended to read as follows: "Section 4: WATER RATES--FLAT RATE. For water furnished at flat rates, the monthly charge shall be as follows: "For each residential unit for use on one lot, adjacent lots, or tract of land including all water for ordinary domestic pur- poses, such lots or tract not exceeding 12,000 square feet in area, $2.05. -1- Y f "For each residential unit for use on one lot or tract of land including .all necessary water for ordinary or domestic purposes, such lot or tract not exceeding 18,000 square feet in area., $3.00. "For each additional residential unit on the same lot or tract of land where the charge is made to the owner of such lot or tract of land, $1.00, "The foregoing rates shall be charged and accrue each month irrespective of whether such residential units are occupied. "Residential units as herein used shall inelud.e the separate units of courts, motels, apartment houses, flats, or other multiple dwelling units as well as single family dwellings. "For every public school and irrigation of school grounds adjacent thereto, the charges shall be at the following rates: "Elementary School, $13.00 per month "High School or Junior High School, $30.00 per month "For independent private fire lines, used exclusively for fire protection purposes whether such lines be connected with auto- matic sprinkler system or to hose attachments, the monthly charge shall be as follows: "For each 2" fire line, $ 1.50 "For each 3" fire line, $ 2.00 "For each 4" fire line, $$$ 3.00 "For each 6" fire line, 5;00 "For each 8" fire line, 7:50 "For each 10" fire line, 10,00 "For flooding excavations such as trenches or ditches or fills, 4. the charge shall be ten cents (10¢) for each 100 cubic feet of excava- tion, ditch, or fill." Section 3: That Section 5 of Ordinance No, 511 shall be amended to read as follows: "Section 5: WATER RATES -- METERED USE, For water served. through meters inside the city limits of the City of Lynwood, the monthly charge shall be as follows: "For the first 1200 cubic feet, or fraction thereof, $1.50, "For all water furnished over 1200 cubic feet, nine cents (9¢) per 100 cubic feet, -2- s "For water served outside the city limits of the City of Lynwood through meters, the monthly charge shall be as follows: "for the first 1200 cubic feet, or fraction thereof, $2.00. "For all water furnished over 1200 cubic feet, twelve cents (12¢) per 100 cubic feet. "No flat rate water services shall be permitted outside the City limits." Section 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a weekly newspaper published, printed., and circulated in the City of Lynwood., California. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said.
