HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0615 ti ORDINANCE N0. 6~5 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA AMENDING SECTION 1-b AND SECTION 10 OF ORDINANCE N0. 433 OF SAID CITY. The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain a.s follows: Section 1: That Section 1-b of Ordinance No. 433 be amended to provide that all trash, in order to be classified a.s either "combustible trash" or "non-combustible trash" and be collected under the provisions of Ordinance No. 433, shall be in bundles or containers not in excess of forty (40) pounds in weight for each bundle or container. Section 2: That Section 10 of Ordinance No. 433 shall be amended. to read as follows: "Section 10: The following charges are hereby established as the fees to be paid for services rendered in the collection and disposal of garbage and trash: "a. For each single-family dwelling, sixty cents (60¢) per month for two garbage collections per week and/or one collection per week for combustible and non-combustible trash. "b. For two-family dwellings or two houses on the same lot, fifty cents (50¢) per month per unit for two garbage collections per week and/or one collection per week for combustible and. non-combustible trash. "c. For all apartment houses, flats, courts, motels, or multiple family dwellings, forty cents (40¢) per month for each dwelling unit for two garbage collections per week and/or one collection per week for combustible and non-combustible trash. "d. For each commercial establishment, sixty cents (60¢) per month for two garbage collections per week and./or one collection per week for combustible and non-combustible trash. An additional charge of sixty cents (60¢) per month will be made where garbage collection service in excess of twice weekly is required. -1- "Any commercial establishment producing evidence that garbage service is not required and that a licensed trash hauler is employed and paid for trash collection service, may be exempted. from the above charges at the discretion of the City Manager." Section 3: This ordinance is urgently required for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, a.nd. safety in the City of Lynwood and shall be in effect November 1, 1954. The following is a specific statement showing the emergency of this ord.ina.nce: That a new garbage and trash collection and disposal contract has been entered into effective November 1, 1954, and. the new ordinance is necessary for the purpose of agreement between the ordinance and said new contract. Section 4: The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press,_ a newspaper of general circu- lation printed and circulated in the City of Lynwood. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held. on the 5th day of October, 1954, and finally adopted and adjourned ordered published a.tar3/regular meeting of said.
