HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0610,, ORDINANCE N0. 610 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 27 AND 28 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 491 OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as follows: Section l: That Section 27 of Ordinance No. 491 be amended. to read as follows: "Section 27. TOILETS, LAVATORIES AND DRESSING ROOMS. After the effective date of this ordinance, for every public eating place, food establishment, or slaughter house,there shall be provided one (1) toilet for each sex up to fifteen (15) people, and one add.itiona.l toilet for every additional fifteen (15) or fraction thereof persons of each sex employed. The toilets for each sex shall be in separate compartments. Location of all toilets shall be approved by the Health Officer. Each toilet shall be located in a room separate and apart from the room or rooms in which food is prepared, stored, cooked, served, or sold. Access to all toilets and lavatories shall be separated from all kitchens and other places where food. is prepared, stored, or exhibited, by a solid. wall. The toilets shall be provided with a self-closing door, to which all operators shall have access. Such toilet rooms shall be well ventilated and- plumbed, and the floors, walls, ceilings, lavatories, and toilet bowls shall at all times be kept free from any accumulation of dirt, filth, or corrosion. There shall also be provided a lavatory or lavatories where. every operator shall be required to wash his hands thoroughly after using the toilet and immediately before starting work. The lavatories shall be equal in number to. the toilets up to a maximum of three. Wherever there are more than three toilets, additional lavatories shall be provided. if so ordered by the Health Officer. Such lavatories shall be supplied with hot and cold. running water, soap and indiv3d.ua1 towels with a receptacle for their disposal. There shall be provided a separate dressing room properly lighted. and ventilated and provided with a. self-closing door. No person, whether operator or not, shall dress -1- < , ;. or undress or store clothing in any other room than a. wash room or dressing room separate from any room in which food is prepared, stored, cooked, or sold. In a'food establishment, hot and cold running water shall be provided in each lavatory." Section 2.: That Section 28 of Ordinance No. 491 is amended to read. as follows: "Section 28. PUBLIC EATING PLACE WHERE LI9UOR IS SOLD. The owner, operator, or manager of every building, room, or place hereafter established as a public eating place where beer,, wine, or any alcoholic liquor is sold for consumption on the premises shall maintain in connection therewith an adequate urinal for men, one (1) water closet for each sex, and one (1) lavatory for each sex adjacent to such water closet for public use. No such toilet room shall open directly into any room where food is prepared or served and access to all such toilets shall be separated from all kitchens and other places where food is prepared, by a solid wall." Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed; published, a.nd circulated in the City of Lynwood, California. First read a.t a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the lst day of June, 1954 and. finally adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held. on the 15th day of June, 1954, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Bruner, McMeekin, Pearson, Pender, Willard..
