Sometimes spikes in water usage can mean leaks or other plumbing problems that need to be fixed. Being alerted early can help keep water bills low. Customers can sign up to receive the alerts on the Town’s Customer Self Service Portal (www.leesburgva.gov/customerportal). When signing up, customers set the threshold daily usage amount at which they will receive an alert. Alerts will be sent via either email or text message when usage exceeds the designated threshold. New users must first register on the portal and link their utilities account. You will need your account number and customer identification number (CID), which can be found on your bill. If you do not have your account number or CID, you can email water_feedback@leesburgva.gov with your name and service address. Existing users can sign up for the alerts by clicking on “Notifications” on the View Daily Usage page. The Leesburg Utilities Department encourages its customers to take advantage of the 24/7 online access to their accounts, daily water usage monitoring and high usage alerts through the Customer Self-Service Portal. The online water usage data and alerts are enhancements to the Town’s commitment to customer service by providing valuable information through technology while assisting customers with saving water and money.
