PAL TdOTOR BUS LINES FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF
PASSL;D?GERS AND THEIR HAND BAGC7AGE, FOR HIRE,
WHOLLY WITHIP; '!'HE CITY OF LYNS400D, OVA, UPON,
AND ALONG THE STREETS, HIGH`T'TAYS, ALLEYS, BOULE-
VARDS, AVENUES, ROADS, AND OTI-INS PUBLIC PLACES
AS PRESCRIBED IP1 SAID ORDINANCE 419; FIXING THE
COIF ENSATION AND SPECIFYING THE TERMS AND CON-
DITIOIQS OF SAID FRANCHISE AND ANENDIIQG ORDINANCE
N0, 438,
1V'HEREAS, Dean Carson was by the provisions of City Ordinance
Tdo. 419 granted a franchise to establish, and for a period of twenty
(20) years commencing with the 18th day of January 1Q46, to conduct,
maintain, and operate intra-municipal motor bus lines for the trans-
portation of ,'passengers, and their hand baggage for hire, wholly t~rithin
the City of Lynwood, over and upon and along certain streets and high-
waT;a in said City, sub ,ject to covenants, coriditiona, restrictions,
and limitations contained in said Ordinance 419; and
WHEREAS, the said Dean Carson has ever since said date of
January 1946 conducted, maintained, and operated said intra-municipal
motor bus lines within the City of Lynwood under and by virtue of said
franchise; and
3VHEREA5, the said Dean Carson has since said January 18, 1946
extended his said motor bus lines to points beyond the coruorate limits
of the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, the said operations of the said Dean Carson for
the transportation of passengers for hire in motor buses within and
without the limits of the said City of Lynwood. are now under the
,jurisd.iction of the Public Utilities Commission of the 5ta.te of Cali-
fornia; a.nd
WHEREAS, the said Dean Carson has -requested the City Council
for a cancellation of said franchise; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council that a.11
bus lines that pick up and discharge passengers within the City limits

of the City of Lynwood shall pa.,y uniform license fees in accordance
with City Ordinance No, 438 of said. City,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does ordain a.s follows:
Section l: City Ordinance Tdo. 419 is hereby repealed,
Section 2: The franchise of Dean Carson to conduct,
maintain, and. overate antra-municival motor bus lines for the trans-
portation of passengers and their hand baggage for hire upon and
along the streets and highwaye and other public places in the City
of Lyntaood. is hereby cancelled and terminated.
Section 3; That all bus lines that pick up and discharge
passengers on the streets in the City of Lynwood shall file tn.*ith the
City Council a detailed and accurate schedule or time table of all
trips made by said bus lines which pass through or along any of the
streets of said City,
Section 4: Any person, fi?^m, or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and upon conviction thereof shall 'qe punishable by a fine of
not to exceed ~p500,00 or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail
for not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment,

of this Ordinance occurs or continues shall be deemed. to constitute
a separate offense, and upon conviction thereof shall be puniahab]_e

Section 5: The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to
be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper off' general circu-
lation, printed and circulated in the City of Lynwood,
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 18th day of August, 1953 and finally adopted and
ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the lst

day of September, 1953, by the following vote:
