AN ORDINANCE OF THE INCORPORATED CITY OF LYTQt~l00D
ESTABLISHING TAX DISTRICT NUMBER 1 OF SAID CITY,
FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES, ADID LEVYING T'_0.XES FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR, BEGINPIING JULY 1, 1953 AND END-
ING JUNE 30, 7-95~•
The City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, does
ordain as follows, to-wit:
Section 1: Tax District No. 1. That for the purposes of
taxation, all of that territory and lands lying and being in the
corporate limits of the City of Lynwood, Gal ifornia. prior to February
1, 1953 be knot-rn as and constitute Tax District No. 1 of said City.
Section 2: That the amount of money necessary to be raised
by taxation upon the taxable property vtithin the corporate limits of
the City of Lyntaood_, County of Los Angeles, State of California., in
Tax District Number 1 of said City, to provide for carrying on the
various functions of municipal government in said City for the fiscal
year beginning July 1, 1953 and ending June 30, 195, is hereby fixed
at the sum of Tt•~o Hundred Ttaent?j-four Thousand Five Hundred NiiZety-six
and 2ID/100ths Dollars ((~224~,596.21).
Section 3: That in addition to the amount of money necessary
to be raised_ as aforesaid, the amount of money necessary to be raised
by taxation upon the taxable property within the corporate limits of
~ said City in Tax District No. 1 of said City to provide for the payment
to the State Employees' Retirement System according to the terms of
contract with the State of California for making the officials and
employ>ees of the City of Lyn~~rood members of the State Employees' F'~e-
tirement System; authority for the execution cf said contract as granted
by Ordinance PTo. 426, adopted b,y a vote of the qualified electors of
the City of L,ynt~rood the 16th day of April, 1946. For the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 7.953"and ending June 30, 1954, it is hereby fixed
at the sum of Thirty-five Thousand Forty-one aild 97/100ths Do7_lars
(~~35,041..97) .

Section 4; That in addition to the amount of money neces-
sari; to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money necessary to be
raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the corporate
limits of said City and. 5.n Tax District No. 1 of said City to :provide
for a fund for maintenance and improvement of public parks for the
fiscal year beginning July 1, 1953 and- end.ing~ June 30, 1954, i.s hereby
fixed at the sum of Five Thousand ^lhree Hundred Thirty-nine and
56/l0oths Dollars (~5>339.56).
Section 5: ^l hat for the purpose of~raising the sums of
money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property
within the City limits of said City of Lynwood as the revenue to
ca.rr~T on the function of the various departments of said City; to
provide a park maintenance and improvement fund; to provide paymerit
to State Employees' Retirement Fund as authorized in Ordinance DIo. 426,
the rates of taxes are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied on
all taxable property ~oithin the City limits of said City, included in
Tax District Number 1 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1953 and
ending June 30, 19$4 upon each X100.00 of the assessed value of said
Aroperty as assessed by the County Assessor and. equalized by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, State of California,
for the said fiscal year, as follows:

in accordance with the terms of Section 36837 of the Crovernment Code

Section 7: That the City Clerk of said City shall certify
to the passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published.

First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 18th day of August, 1953, and finally adopted and
ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held oil the
