AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING CHAPTER 45 OF THE IOWA CODE AS THE
METHOD FOR CONDUCTING TIFFIN ELECTIONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA:
SECTION 1. The purpose of this Ordinance is to adopt Iowa
Code Chapter 45 as the method for conducting Tiffin City
elections, as authorized in Iowa Code Section 376 . 3.
SECTION 2 . The City of Tiffin shall henceforth conduct
elections for al.]. city officials in the manner and by the.
procedure specified in Chapter 45 of the 1.983 Iowa Code. Chapter
45 of the Iowa Code 1983 is hereby adopted as the method for
conducting City elections.
SECTION 3. Repealer. Al.]. ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Severability. If any section, provision, or
part of this Ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or uncon-
stitutional , such adjudication shall not affect the validity of
the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part
thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional .
SECTION 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in
effect after its final passage, approval , and posting as provided
by law.
On the 10th day of August , ].983, at a regular
meeting of the Tiffin City Council , Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson
Rohret introduced Ordinance No.114 , and moved that it
be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by
Councilperson Spivey . Ayes : Cox, Brown, Spivey,
Rohret, Stevens
Nayes :
Motion carried.
The reading of the ordinance was completed and discussed and
placed on record.
A motion was made by Councilperson Rohret to
adopt Ordinance #1983-114 and seconded by Councilperson
Spivey . Ayes: Cox, Brown, Spivey, Rohret, Stevens
Nayes: . Motion carried.
On the 10th day of August , 1983 , at a regular
meeting of the City Council. of Tiffin, Iowa, with a majority of
the Council members present, Councilperson Cox
moved that the rule requiring a second and third reading and 6
reading on three different dates be dispensed with. This motion
was seconded by Councilperson Spivey

Motion carried.
Whereupon the Mayor declared that Ordinance No.1983-114be
adopted and signified his approval of the same by fixing his
signature thereto.
Passed by the Council on the 10th day of August
1983, and approved by the Mayor on the 10th day- of August
1983 .
