HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0592°' ' s ORDINANCE N0. 592 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNGd00D ADOPTING A UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, EXCEPT CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SAID CODE, RrHICH CODE PROVIDES FOR THE PRO- TECTION OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, REGULATES PERMITS FOR THE INSTALLATION OR ALTERATION OF PLUMBING, GAS, AND DRAINAGE SYSTEP•IS, AND REG- ULATES AND DEFINES OTHER MATTERS PERTASNING THERETO, AIQD REPEALING ORDINANCE N0.566 OF THE CITY OF LYNrI0OD. The City Council of the City of Lym~rood does ordain as follows: Section l: That a certain book, three copies of which a.re on file in the office of the City Clerk o£ the City of LynUrood,being marked and. designated as "Uniform Plumbing Code, 1952 Edition, adopted by Western Plumbing Officials Association a.t the 22nd Annual Confer- ence October, 1951, be and the same is hereby adopted as the plumbing code of the Gity of.Lynwood, except that Section 1.3 and 1.8 of Part One, and Sections 2. 1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4•, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, and 2.12 0£ Part Two of said code shall be portions of said code not hereby adopted. Section 2: Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance sha.11 be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not to exceed $$500.00 or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail for not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each separate day or any portion thereof during which any violation of this ordinance occurs or continues shall be deemed to constitute a separate offense, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable as herein urovided. Section 3: Effect of Ordinance. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the vai_idity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The Legislative Body hereby declares that it would have~pasaed this ordinance and each -1- <~ section, subsection, sentence, clause, and phrase thereof, irrespec- tive of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sen- tences, clauses, or phrases be declared unconstitutional, Section 4: A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict with or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or com- mitted in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this ordinance. Section 5: Ordinance No. 566 of the City of Lynwood is hereby repealed, Section 6: The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general cir- culation printed and circulated in the City of Lynwood, First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held. on the 5th day of May and finally adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 19th day of May, 1953 by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Bruner, Daetweiler,.Pearaon, Snedd.on and Willard, Noes: Councilmen No Absent:Councilmen No ~n ~~ ~~. ~~ -.~ ~.l ~~ -CITY CLF,RiC, CIT 0 LYNw00D STATP Oi O.E~sI~'ORNIA.
