HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0579 ORDINANCE N0. 579 AN ORDINANCE OF THE INCORPORATED CITY OF LYN- +JOOD ESTABLISHING TAX DISTRICT NUMBER 1 OF SAID CI'PY., FIXING THE RATES OF TAXES, AND LEVYING TAXES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING JULY 1, 192 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1953. The City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, does ordain as follows, to-wit: Section l: Tax District No. 1. That for the purposes of taxation, all of that territory and lands lying and being in the corporate limits of the City of Lynwood, California prior to February 1, 1952 be Known as and constitute Tax District No. 1 of said City. Sectiono2: That the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles, State of California, in Tax District Number 1 of said City, to provide for carrying on the various functions of municipal government in said City for the fiscal ,year beginning July 1, 1952 and. ending June 30, 1953, is hereby fixed at the sum of Two Hundred Ten Thousand Six Hundred Forty-one and 65/100ths Dollars 0210,641.65). Section 3: That in addition to the amount of money necessary to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the corporate limits oP said City in Tax District No. 1 of said City to provide Por the payment to the State Employees Retirement System according to the terms of contract with the State of California for making the officials and employees of the City of Lynwood members of the State Employees' Re- tirement System; authority for the execution of said contract as granted by Ordinance No. 426, adopted. by a vote of the qualified electors of the City of Lynwood the 16th day of April, 1946. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1952 and ending June 30, 1953, it is hereby fixed a.t the sum oP Thirty-Pour Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-three and. 92/100ths Dollars 034,693.92). -1- Section 4: That in addition to the amount of money neces- sary to be raised as aforesaid, the amount of money necessary to be - raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the corporate limits of said City and in Tax District No. 1 of said City to provide for a fund for maintenance and improvement of public parks for, the fiscal year beginning .July 1, 1952 and ending June 30, 1953, is hereby fixed. at the sum of Four Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-six and 27/100ths Dollars 04,956.27). Section 5: That for the purpose of raising the sums of money necessary to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property within the City limits of said City of Lynwood as the revenue, to carry on the function of the various departments of said. City; to arovide a park maintenance and improvement fund; to provide payment to State Employees' Retirement Fund as authorized in Ordinance No. 426, the rates of taxes are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby levied on a.11 taxable property within the City limits of said City, included in Tax District Number l for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1952 and ending June 30, 1953 upon each X100.00 of the assessed value of said property as assessed by the.County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of_the County of Los Angeles, State of Calif- ornia, for the said fiscal year, as follows: For General Purposes ($0.85 For Public Park R4e.intenance and Improvement .02 For City's contri- bution to State Re- tirement Fund author- ized at Election held April 1946 .14 TOTAL X1.01 Section 6: Ordinance No. 322 of the City oP Lynwood is hereby repealed. Section 7: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately in accordance with the terms of Section 36937 of the Government Code - 2- J of the State of California.
