HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0578 ORDINAI~TCE NO. 578 AN ORDIDiAi~TCE OF THE CITY OF LYitiTI°lOOD APPROVING THE APdATEXATION OF THAT CERTATiQ PROP'RTY IN THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING SOUTHERLY OF CEPI- TURY BOULEVARD AND ADJACENT TO ?4RIGHT ROAD, 's~rfiEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Terri- tory Act of 1939", a petition was filed with the City Clerk and duly presented to the City Council of the City cf Lynwood. on July 2, 1952, requesting the annexation by the City of Lynwood of certain uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County of Loa Angeles, lying southerly of Century Boulevard and adjacent to I+Iright Road and. hereinafter particularly described; and VIHEREAS, by Resolution No, 2415 adopted by the City Council of the City of Lynwood on the 2nd day of July, 1952, and_ published in the Lynwood Press, the City Council of the City of Lynwood duly gave notice of and fixed the 5th of August, 1952 at 8:00 p. m, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, 11337- Plaza Street, Lynwood, California, as the day, hour, and place when and vrr_ere any person owning real property in such territory so published to be annexed and having any objection to the proposed annexation might appear before said City Council and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; and 'X• 'aTHEREAS ~o , no protests have been filed; a.nd WHERE.9S, all proceedings have been in conformity with law; NOw, THEREFORE, the City Council cf the City of Lynt~rood does ordain as follows: Section 1: That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" the annexation of that certain uninhabited territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood. in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, designated. as "T~lright Road Annex No. $~~ as hereinafter more particularly described, hereby is approved, Said property lying southerly of Century Boulevard and ad- jacent to T+Tright Road is included within the boundary 11ne described as follows: -1- Begginning at the southeasterly corner of Tract No, 1Ob14 as shown on map recorded in Book 211, pages 38 and 39 of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles; thence northerly along the easterly line of said tract and continu- ing northerly along tine easterly line of Tract No. 6728 as shown on map recorded in Book 125, pages 19 and 20 of said I~Tapa to the northeasterly corner of said last mentioned tract; thence easterly along ti2e southerly line of Century Boulevard (formerly 2.2orton Road) 50 feet wide as shown on said last mentioned map to the westerly line of i•Tright Road 33 feet wide ae shown on map filed in Book 43, page 44 of Record of Surveys in the office of said recorder; thence along said westerly line South 20° 23'50" Vilest to the westerly prolongation of a line shown on said last mentioned map as having a bear- ing of South 67037'35" East and intersecting the center line of said Wright Road at a point distant southerly thereon 1014..95 feet from the center line of Century Boulevard (formerly i~iorton Road) as said last mentioned center line is shown on said last mentioned map; thence South 67037'36" East to a line that is parallel vrith said center line of Wright Road and distant easterly 180..05 feet measured along the southerly line of Parcel 1 of said Record of Surveys and the westerly prolongation thereof, from said last mentioned center line; thence southerly along said last mentioned parallel line to said last mentioned southerly line, said last mentioned south- erly line being also the northerly line of Lot 6 of Slauason Tract as shown on map recorded in Book 3, page 348 of T+Iiscellaneous Records in the office of said recorder; thence westerly along said northerly line to the point of beginning, Section 2: This ordinance is urgently required for the immediate preservation of public peace, health, and. safety in the City of Lynwood and shall be, in effect immediately upon adoption, The follow- ing is a specific statement shot•~ing the emergency of this ordinance: The City of Lynwood is nearly 100 per cent built and the need for ad- ditional territory for expansion is imperative.
