AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, ORDERING, CALLIIv'G, PRO-
VIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A
SPECIAL ETECTION TO BE HELD IIQ SAID
CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 1952, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE
QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY A PRO-
POSITION TO INCUR BONDED INDEBTEDNESS
BY SAID CITY FOR A CERTAIN NNNICIPAL
IMPROVE1VfEPIT, AND CONSOLIDATING SAID ELEC-
TIOPd WITH THE GENERAL NNNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE.
NIHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
California, did on the 19th day of February, 1952, by a
vote of more than two-thirds of the members of said City
Council, adopt Resolution No. 2"~f32 , entitled "Resolution
of the City Council of the City of Lynwood, California,
determining that the public interest and necessity demand
the acquisition and construction by said city of a certain
municipal improvement, and making findings relating thereto,"
which said resolution was duly signod and approved by the
Mayor of said City and attested and certified by the City
Clerk of said City;
NOV1, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of

Lyn:vood DOES ORDAIN as follows
Section 1. That a special election be held, and
the same is hereby called to be held, in the City of Lynwood,
California, on the 8th day of April, 1952, for the purpose
of submitting to the qualified voters of said city a proposi-
tion of incurring indebtedness and issuing bonds of said city
therefor, in the amount hereinafter set forth, and for the
object and purpose set forth in said resolution and hereinafter
stated,
Section 2, That the object and purpose for which
said indebtedness is proposed to be incurred and bonds issued
therefor are as follows;
The acquisition and construction by said
City of a certain municipal improvement, to wit:
a swimming pool and building therefor with heating
and 4vater purification systems, said building to
include grandstands, mezzanine floor lunching area,
dressing rooms, toilets and showers, including the
acquisition of all apparatus and equipment necessary
therefor.
Section 3, That the estimated cost of the
proposed
municipal improvement described in Section 2 hereof is the
sum of four hundred thousand dollars 0400,000); that the
amount of the principal of the indebtedness to be incurred
therefor is the sum of Sour hundred thousand dollars 0400,000);
and that the maximum rate of interest to be paid on said
indebtedness shall not exceed five per cent .( o
5 ) per annum,
payable annually for the first year and semiannually thereafter.
That if the proposition for the incurring of bonded
indebtedness so submitted receives the requisite number of
votes, to wit, two-thirds of the votes of tho qualified electors
voting on said proposition, bonds of said city in not exceeding
the principal amount stated in such proposition, shall be issued
and sold for the objects and purposes set forth in said proposi-
tion.
section 4. That the polls for said election shall
be opened at seven oPClock, A. M,, of the day of said election,
and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven
oPClock, p, ~,, of the same day, when said polls shall be closed,

except as provided in Section 573l~ of the H;lections Code
of the State of California.
That on the ballots to be used at said special
election, in addition to any other matters required by
law, there shall be printed substantially the following:

INSTRUCTIONS TO yOTER5
To vote on any measure, stamp a cross (+) in the
voting square after the word "Y;TS" or after the
word ATO." All marks, except_the_cross (+), are
forbidden, All distinguishing marks or erasures
are forbidden and make the ballot void.
If you wrongly stamp, tear, or deface this ballot
return it to the inspector of election and obtain
another.
On absentee voters ballots mark a cross (+) with
pen or pencil, _

A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the
word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted
in favor of the adoption of the proposition. A cross (+} placed
in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner herein-
before provided shall be counted against the adoption of the
proposition.

Section 5, That the special election hereby called
shall be and is hereby ordered cnnsolidated with the general
municipal election to be held in said city on Tuesday, the
8th day of April, 1952, and such elections shall be held in
all respects as if there were only one election, and only one
ticket or ballot shall be used thereat. The precincts, poll-
ing places, and officers of election for this special election
shall be the same as those provided for said general municipal
election, and said precincts, polling places and officers of
election are set forth in the resolution providing for said
general municipal election, to wit Resolution No. 7_',81
adopted February 19, 1952, and entitled "A resolution of the
City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, falling a
general municipal election on Tuesday, April 8, 1952, in said
dity, establishing precincts, designating polling places,
appointing election officers and fixing their compensation."
Section 6, That, except as otherwise provided
in this ordinance, the election called hereby shall be
conducted as provided by lavr for other municipal elections
in said city.
Section 7. That the City Council of said City
shall meet at its usual place of meeting in the City Rall
on Tuesday, the 15th day of April, 1952, at 7:'30 o'clock
g.M., of said day, and proceed to canvass the election re-
turns and declare the result of said election.
Section 8, That the City Clerk shall certify to
the passage and adoption of this ordinance by a vote of more
than two-thirds of all of the members of the City Council of
said City, and shall cause said ordinance to be published
once a week for two successive weeks in the LYNWOOD PRESS,

a newspaper of general circulation published less than
six days a vaeel: in said city. No other notice of such
election need be given.
Section 9< This ordinance shall take effect
upon its passage,

Lynwood, California, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the fore-
going ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of said City duly held on the 19th day
of Februar~, 1952, and thereafter at a regular meeting of
said City ouncil duly held on the !}th day of March, 1952,
was re-read, duly passed and adopted by said City Council
and signed and approved by the Mayor of said City, and that
said ordinance was passed and adopted by a vote of more
thar, two-thirds of the members of said City Council, to wit:
