RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUDGET CALENDAR FOR FY 2023-2024
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a municipal corporation, organized and operating under
the laws of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the City must submit a budget to the Iowa Department of Management by March 31, 2023;
and,
WHEREAS, the following budget workshops and meetings are proposed in order to prepare the budget
forms to be submitted no later than March 31, 2023; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City that the Mayor, Council, staff, and residents are involved in
planning the FY 2023-2024 budget.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, IOWA,
THAT:
Section 1. The above outlined budget calendar is approved.

Staff begins preparation of budget following November month -end
reconciliation
Last day for City to provide preliminary projects to City Engineer for CIP
cost estimation purposes
By January 2
City receives valuations from Scott County Auditor
City Engineer returns cost estimates for potential CIP projects

Finalization of proposed budget & submission to City Council for review
January 10
1St Council budget/CIP workshop (5:30 prior to regular meeting)
January 24
2nd Council budget/CIP workshop (5:30 prior to regular meeting);
Council sets hearing on FY24 budget max levy (at regular meeting)

Consultant prepares max levy forms/notice of hearing & submits
notices for publication
January 31
Publication of max levy notice by Quad City Times

3rd Council budget/CIP workshop (5:30 prior to regular meeting); Public
hearing on max levy (at regular meeting)
February 20
Finalization of budget by staff and submission of notice of public
hearing by consultant
Submission of notice on CIP hearing by consultant

Regular City Council Meeting; City Council holds public hearing &
