Wayne Neddermeyer - Mayor in Chair Priscilla Arens - Clerk All members present The minutes of the regular meeting of August 4, 1970 read. Moved by Raymond Bosch to accept the minutes as read. Moved by Arthur Theis to accept the minutes as read. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Mrs. Irma Lionberger from the Suburban Hennepin County Relief Board explained the food stamp. Moved by Arthur Theis that we participate In the Federal food stamp program. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers. Motion carried. Marlon Hauge appeared with regard to the water rates at Medina Morningside. The Council is going to study the brochure. John Day and Wilfred Cavanaugh/*Maregard to the Second Addition to the Hamel Industrial complex. They were referred to *he Planning Commission. Mr. Walter Wolfe from Van Dusen & Company, Inc. appeared with regard to remodelling the Kantrel Stables into a warehouse. Building inspector to check into the building. Mr. Coplin presented some protests against this remodelling. Mr. John Miller and William Mills discussed some aspects of the Mobile Home Park application. Moved by Raymond Bosch to set-up a meeting for September 9th, 1970 at 7 P. M. for the purpose of discussing with 4±. Haagen the proposed rate increase for water in the Medina-Morningside development; Discussing with Mr. Miller the Mobile Home situation and also discuss the budget for 1971. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. Discussed Ken Thies application to buy the garage on the Village property. Moved by Don Des Lauriers that we authorize the Village Clerk to advertise for bids on the Village garage, minimum bid being $300.00, bids to be opened at the meeting of October b, 1970 at 8 P. M. Seconded by Raymond Bosch Motion carried, A bill for $450.00 for destroyed trees from Fidel Theis. This will be taken up with other matter with regard to sewer project. A letter from the Pollution Control with regard to situation of sewer peports. Leo Leuer has already taken care of. An invitation from Rolling Green Country Club for the use of their pool and golf course by the Officials of the Village. A letter from the Suburban Public Health Nursing Service advising that the capita rate for 1971 has been incased to 340/ Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to resolve that the Village of Medina hereby approves the Plat of Walter Kohnen's Independence Hthights, Second Addition. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Raymond Bosch that the Village accept the road on Donald Des Lauriers First Division and that we release the money held in escrow, to Donald Des Lauriers. Seconded by Arthur Theis Motion carried. (Donald Des Lauriers abstained from voting) A report was given that Mayor ATeddermeyer and Councilman Bosch met with the members of the Hamel, Long Lake and Mpple Plain fire departments - agreement 2 mill rate on rF:al estate and personal property, amounting to $4100.00 to be pro -rated between the four departments and $100.00 per hour for fire calls. Moved by Arthur Theis that the Chief of Police be appointed to act in beh if of the Village for application for refmnd for the training course. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Moved by Raymond Bosch that we authorize the building insepctor to issue a building permit for a second house on the Harold Pederson farm. Seconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. A numberopcitizens appeared with regard to prohibiting horses on improved roads. Mr. Gubbins had drawn up an ordinance but nol:action was taken/ Moved by Arthur Theis to pay the•bills as follows: Payroll in the amount of $5,248.21 and order checks in the amount of $45,603.74. Seconded by Raymond Bosch. Motion carried. Moved by Donald Des Lauriers to have the Village Attorney to place a bid for #3310 Welco Pneumatic Pull type roller at $250.00 and #3311 Bros Pneumatic pull type roller, t at $200.00 if not able to get #3310. Seconded by Arthur Theis JIp+' ion carried. 6 Moved by Raymond Bosch to approve the partial listing of the Maple Plain, Long Lake and Medina-Morningside numbers on the houses as submitted by Anne Dorweiler. Meconded by Donald Des Lauriers Motion carried. Moved by Arthur Theis that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Raymond Bosch Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 11:40 P. M.
