A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC
SIGNAL POLES, CONTROLLER, CABINETS, VEHICLE
SIGNAL HEADS, CONDUITS, CONDUCTORS, PULL BOXES,
ANCHOR BOLTS, ETC. FOR THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL
INSTALLATION AT THE LYNWOOD REGIONAL JUSTICE
CENTER THROUGH AN INFORMAL BIDDING PROCEDURE
WHEREAS, on January 17, 1995, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 95 -3 authorizing the Mayor to execute the
Maintenance and Replacement Agreement with Los Angeles County for
the traffic signal installation at the Lynwood Regional Justice
Center; and
WHEREAS, the City will perform said traffic signal
installation and Los Angeles County will pay for 100% of the cost
of installation; and
WHEREAS, the project can be most expeditiously
completed by having the City purchase the traffic signal poles,
controller, cabinets, vehicle signal heads, conduits, conductors,
pull boxes, anchor bolts, etc. immediately; and
WHEREAS, said materials can be purchased more
economically and expeditiously if done through an informal
bidding procedure; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of said materials is estimated to
cost $40,000; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal
Code, Council can authorize purchases through informal bids by a
4/5 vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff
to purchase traffic signal poles, controller, cabinets, vehicle
signal heads, conduits, conductors, pull boxes, anchor bolts, and
other miscellaneous needed supplies, services and materials for
the traffic signal installation at the Lynwood Regional Justice
Center through informal bids.
Section 2 . This resolution shall take
effect immediately upon its adoption.
