Friends of Leesburg Public Arts Seeks Entries for Small Art
Works Show
$50 Friends, 5x7 Art Works! event will raise funds for public art
initiatives in Leesburg.
Leesburg, VA (February 26, 2015) – The Friends of
Leesburg Public Arts (FOLPA) is pleased to announce its
first annual $50 Friends, 5x7 Art Works! art show and
fundraiser. $50 Friends 5x7 Artworks! will open to the
public on May 16, 2015, at LoCo Art Studios, 312-F East
Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia, 20176. Every art work in
the show will be available for purchase for $50 and all
proceeds from the event will support public art initiatives
in Leesburg.
FOLPA is currently soliciting artist entries for the event.
The art works can be of any media and subject, but should
be signed only on the back of each piece. The works will
displayed anonymously during the show. Two-dimensional
works should be no larger than 5” x 7” and three-
dimensional works should be no larger than 5” x 5” x 7”.
The $50 Friends 5x7 Art Works! will provide a fun venue for the community to meet
participating local artists. In addition, the event will be a a wonderful opportunity for artists to
show their art to an enthusiastic audience of art lovers and collectors while helping Leesburg
become a premier arts destination. All amateur, emerging and established artists are invited to
contribute art works. Details and a submission form are available on the FOLPA website at
www.leesburgpublicarts.org. Entry deadline is April 15, 2015.
$50 Friends, 5x7 Art Works! will open with a FOLPA Patrons reception on Thursday, May, 14,
2015, followed by an artists’ reception on Friday, May 15. The show will open to the public, and
works will be available for purchase, on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
About Friends of Leesburg Public Arts: The Friends of Leesburg Public Arts (FOLPA) is a 501(c)3,
all-volunteer organization dedicated to public art initiatives in Leesburg. The organization
recently merged with the Leesburg Arts & Cultural District Committee. FOLPA sponsors the
annual Leesburg Fine Arts Festival held each fall in downtown Leesburg and supports the
Leesburg Comission on Public Art with their public art initiatives including a sculpture walk in
Raflo Park and a mural for the Loudoun Street side of the Town Hall Parking Garage. For more
