A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT GPA 95 -01 CHANGING THE LAND USE
DESIGNATION FROM COMMERCIAL TO RESIDENTIAL FOR PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 3115 THROUGH 3165 REDWOOD AVENUE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
pursuant to law, held a public hearing on the subject
application; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has carefully considered all
pertinent testimony offered at the public hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that
residential use of this property would be consistent with the
goals and policies of the General Plan and recommended approval
to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Development has
determined that the proposal will not have a negative effect on
the environment, and has thereby prepared a Negative Declaration
for the project.
NOW THEREFORE, THE LYNWOOD CITY COUNCIL RESOLVES THE
FOLLOWING:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood
hereby finds determines as follows:
A. A residential designation of this property would be
compatible with surrounding land use.
B. The subject site would accommodate residential
development due to its size, location and proximity to other
residential land uses.
C. The General Plan Amendment to Single Family
Residential would be consistent with the goals and policies of
the General Plan.
D. The proposed General Plan Amendment will not be
detrimental to the properties surrounding the site.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood,
based upon the aforementioned findings and determination, hereby
approves General Plan Amendment Case No.95 -01, changing the
General Plan map designation for a portion of lots 9 and 10, lots
14 through 42, Block 14, of the Modjeska Park Tract, Map book 9,
pages 142 -143 of the Los Angeles County Recorder office from
Commercial to Single Family Residential.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6th day of June, 1995 by
members of the City Council.
