A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING MODIFICATIONS AT
11625 AND 11701 LONG BEACH BOULEVARD, AND CONSTRUCTION
OF SIDEWALKS, WHEELCHAIR RAMPS AND CURVE RETURNS FOR
THE LONG BEACH BOULEVARD AND LOUISE STREET INTERSECTION
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 5 -5084 AND 5 -5162,
FY 1994 -95, BE DONE THROUGH AN INFORMAL BIDDING
' PROCEDURE
WHEREAS, the widening of Long Beach Boulevard at 11625
and 11701 Long Beach Boulevard requires the modification of the
existing corner buildings, construction of sidewalks, wheelchair
ramps, curb returns, etc; and
WHEREAS, the building modification and associated
street widening work is estimated to cost $38,000; and
WHEREAS, it is staff's opinion that said work can be
accomplished more economically and expeditiously if done through
an informal bidding procedure; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal
Code, Council can authorize the purchases and acquisition of
services through informal bids by a 4/5 vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff
to complete the building modifications at 11625 and 11701 Long
Beach Boulevard and construction of sidewalks, wheelchair ramps,
curb returns,etc, at the northwest and southwest corners of Long
Beach Street /Louise Street for the Long Beach Boulevard and
Louise Street Intersection Improvement Project, through informal
bids.
Section 2 . This resolution shall take
effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6 th day of
June , 1995.
