A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF MATERIAL,
EQUIPMENT AND CONTRACTUAL SERVICES FOR THE
MERVYN DYMALLY CONGRESSIONAL PARK RENOVATION
PROJECT, PHASE II, THROUGH AN INFORMAL BID
PROCEDURE
WHEREAS, the preparation of plans and construction documents, by the City's
Consultant, Purkiss.Rose -RSI, are underway and are due to be completed in July 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Mervyn Dymally Congressional Park Renovation Project, Phase
II, is scheduled for start of construction in July 1995; and
WHEREAS, portions of the work will be completed through a partnership
program with City personnel and local youth trainees performing such tasks as grading, tree
planting, installing irrigation system, installing playground equipment, installing park furniture;
and
WHEREAS, majority of material, equipment and contractual services required to
complete the said portion of the project can be purchased more economically and expeditiously if
done through an informal bid procedure; and
WHEREAS, under section 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, Council can
authorize purchase through informal bids by a 4/5 vote.
' NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to purchase material,
equipment and contractual services for the Mervyn Dymally Congressional Park Renovation
Project, Phase II, through informal bids.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
