Barbara Notar Named Town Attorney for Town of Leesburg
Leesburg, VA (February 27, 2015) – The
Leesburg Town Council recently appointed
Barbara Notar to the position of Town
Attorney. Ms. Notar was appointed Interim
Town Attorney in July 2014, following the
election of former Town Attorney, the
Honorable Jeanette A. Irby, by the Virginia
General Assembly to the Twentieth Circuit
Court bench.
Ms. Notar has been the Deputy Town
Attorney for the Town of Leesburg since July
2008. Prior to becoming the Deputy Town
Attorney, she served as the President of the
Board of Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc.,
Loudoun County’s largest food pantry, and was also the Founder and President of Save the
Trail, Inc., a citizen-based group formed to preserve the W&OD Trail.
Ms. Notar received her law degree from Suffolk University Law School, located in Boston,
Massachusetts, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,
Michigan. She is a member of the Virginia Bar Association, the Loudoun County Bar Association,
the Loudoun Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association and the Local Government
Attorneys of Virginia.
