HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinances-1987-146 ORDINANCE NO. 1987- 146 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION R-110 OF THE C.A.B.O. AND ESTABLISHING PLAN REQUIREMENTS. ' BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA: Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Section R-110 of the C.A.B.O. of Tiffin, Iowa, by amending the plan requirements set forth in Section R-110 of the C.A.B.O. Section 2 . Amendment. Section R-110 of the C.A.B.O. is hereby repealed and the following Section R-110 is adopted in lieu thereof: Section R-110. Plans . : Before the issuance of any building permit for a construction or improvement of Tiffin Class Type 1 or Type 2 as defined in Section R-109 . 2 of the C.A.B.O. , one copy of a plan drawn to scale showing the proposed construction or improvement shall be submitted to the building inspector. The plan shall set out the dimensions of the construction or improvement. The City of Tiffin shall provide the sheets to be used for the plan. Before the issuance of a building permit for a construction or improvement of Tiffin Class Type 3 or Type 4, as defined in Section R-109 . 2 of the C.A.B.O. , one copy of a plan drawn to scale showing the proposed building location on a property plat shall be submitted to the building inspector. The City of Tiffin shall provide the sheets to be used for the plan. In addition, before the issuance of a building permit for a construction or improvement of Tiffin Class Type 3 or Type 4, two (2) sets of bluelined drawings drawn to scale shall be submitted to the building inspector with certification that the requirements of the building code of the City of Tiffin have been met. The minimum scale of the drawings may be one-quarter inch per one foot. Section 3 . Repealer . All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4 . Severability. If any section, provision, or part of this Ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or uncon- stitutional , such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional . Section 5 . Effective Date . This Ordinance shall- be in e effect after its final passage, approval, and posting as provided by law. On the 11th day of November , 1987 at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council , Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Morgan introduced Ordinance No. 146 , and moved that. it be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Stoner Ayes : Morgan , Spivey , Stoner , Runge . Stratton , absent . Nayes : �- Four members of the council being present and having voted "Aye" , Mayor Glen Potter declared Motion carried, and Ordinance No. 146 was read the first time and discussed and placed on record. I Thereupon, it was moved by' Councilperson Runge and seconded by Councilperson Stoner that the laws and rules providing that ordinances be considered and voted on for passage a't two council meetings prior to the meeting at which it is to be finally passed be suspended and dispensed with and that Ordinance No. 146 be placed on its last reading. Ayes : Morgan , Spivey , Stoner , Runge . Stratton , absent . Nays : Four members of the council being present and having voted "Aye" , Mayor Glen Potter thereupon declared the motion to be carried, and Ordinance No.. 146 was then, placed upon its last ;; reading and was read the last time. Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Morgan and seconded by Councilperson Runge - that Ordinance No. 146 be placed upon its final passage and adopted. Ayes : Morgan , Spivey , Stoner , Runge . Stratton , absent . Nays : Four members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye" , Mayor Glen Potter declared the motion carried, and the Ordinance passed and adopted. Whereupon the Mayor declared that Ordinance No. 146 be adopted and signified his approval of the same by fixing his signature thereto. Passed by the Council on the 1.1th day of November 1987 and approved by the Mayor on the 11th day of November 1987. MAYOR, Glen Potter
