HomeMy Public PortalAboutAll Citizens Access -- 2016-02-19 Minutes Brewster All Citizens Access Committee Minutes of the meeting on February 19, 2016 Brewster Council on Aging 2.30 pm Present: Claire Gradone,Joan Carstenjen,Judy Miller, Roberta Murphy and Denise Rego. Absent: John Dickson,Selectmen liaison E Meeting began at 2:40pm. November 20, 2015 minutes approved. Director's Report: Claire reported the following: CPC grant application was complicated and there was little time to complete before the December deadline. Mike Embury told Claire that there will always be an amount of money on the warrant for All Citizen's Access projects. Jim O'Leary requested automatic doors at the Stony Brook School for Town Meetings. Claire looked into it and they are not required to install, especially now with the new,strict security policy. i Report of meeting with Mark O'Brien: $10,000 was appropriated at Town Meeting to install automatic door openers for the main doors into the Pavilion and the 2 restrooms,as Phase 1 of this project. Phase 2 will allow the installation of the other doors (into the galley grill, into the hallway to the restroom/Pavilion large room, etc.) E i CCMNH Project: Joan and Claire met with Bob Dwyer, Barbara Knoss and a member of the Board of Directors regarding accessibility projects that they are interested in. Claire and Joan gave some suggestions and indicated that it was their responsibility, not the Town's. i Coastal Advisory Group: This committee was formed to preserve our beaches and shoreline. We are losing our beaches and parking lots, They are reviewing which beaches has property adjacent to possibly extend needed parking areas. Paine Creek access is difficult due to high tide deteriorating the shoreline and the beach area. We will ask Chris Miller to attend our next meeting to give us the results and update.
