AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION R-109 . 2 OF THE C.A.B.O. AND
ESTABLISHING PERMIT FEES, AND ALSO ALLOCATING FEES RECEIVED
IN CONNECTION WITH THE GRANTING OF BUILDING PERMITS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL16F TIFFIN, IOWA.
Section 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to
amend the C.A.B.O. of Tiffin, Iowa, by amending, the permit
fees set forth in Section R-109 . 2.
Section 2. Amendment. Section R-109 . 2 of C.`A.B.O. is
hereby repealed and the following Section R-109 . 2 is adopted in
lieu thereof: 1
Section R-109 . 2. Permit Feel
Before the issuance of any building permit, the appropriate
`permit fee must be paid to the City of Tiffin.
The schedule for types' of improvements or construction shall be
as follows : i H
Type of Improvement or Construction , Tiffin Class Type
Decks , patios , porches ' 1
Additions , garages , enclosed porches •
and decks, and nonexempt auxiliary
buildings 2

One-family dwelling ` 3
Two-family dwelling '4
Commercial buildings and buildings governed
by the state building code I 5
The schedule for permit fees shall be as follows :
Tiffin Class Type Fee

Type 1 $20. 00
Type 2 1 ' $35 . 00
Type 3 $100 . 00
Type 4 ' E $175 . 00
Type 5 $ 75. 00
All fees collected in connection with improvements or
Construction of Types 1, 2 , 3 , and 4 shall be allocated such that
the City of Tiffin receives twenty-fivelpercent (25%) and the
building inspector receives seventy-five percent (75%) of the
fee. The City of Tiffin shall receive +one hundred percent (100%)
of the fee collected in connection withlan improvement or
construction of Type 5 .
Section 3 . Repealer. All ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.

Section 4 . Severability. If any section, provision, or
part of this Ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or uncon-
stitutional , such adjudication shall not affect the validity of
the ordinance as a whole, or any section, provision, or part
thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional .
Section 5. Effective Date . This 'Ordinance shall be in
effect after its final passage, approval , and posting as provided
by law. r
On the 11th day of November ' , 1987 at a regular
meeting of the Tiffin City Council , Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson
Runge introduced Ordinance No. 147 , and moved
that it be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by
Councilperson Stoner
Ayes : Morgan , Spivey , Stner , Runge . 1 Stratton , absent .
Nayes :
Four
members of the council being {present and having voted
"Aye" , Mayor Glen Potter declared Motion carried, and Ordinance
No. 147 was read the first time and discussed and placed on
record.
Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson Runge
and seconded by Councilperson Morgan
that the laws and rules providing that ordinances be considered
and voted on for passage at two council° ;meetings prior to the
meeting at which it is to be finally passed be suspended and
dispensed with and that Ordinance No. 147 be placed on its last
reading.
Ayes : Morgan , Spivey , Stoner , Runge . Stratton , absent .
Nays :
Four members of the council being I present and having voted
"Aye" , Mayor Glen Potter thereupon declared the motion to be
carried, and Ordinance No. 147 was then placed upon its last
reading and was read the last time.

that Ordinance No. 147 be placed upon 'its final passage and
adopted.

Nays :
Four members of the Council being present and having voted
"Aye" , MayorIGlen Potter declared the motion carried, and the
Ordinance passed and adopted.
Whereupon the Mayor declared that Ordinance No. 147 be
'adopted and signified his approval of the same by fixing his
signature thereto.
Passed by the Council on the 11th day of November
1987 and approved by the Mayor on the '11th day of November
1987.

Ordinance entitled An Ord. Amending Sect. R-109 . 2 of the C.A.B.O.,,
etc . and known as 147 ! was duly passed by the Council on the
11th day of November ', 1987 and signed by the Mayor on
the 11th day of November , 1987 and published on the
16th day of November , 1987 by posting copies thereof
in three public places within the limits of the City of Tiffin,
Iowa.
