Home My Public Portal AboutOrdinances-1988-148 Ordinance No. 1988-�148 page 1 OROINANCE 1988- 148 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1979-83 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA BY CHANGING THE USE REGULATIONS OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-1 (SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) R-2 (DUPLEX) BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA: SECTION I. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend the zoning map of the Zoning Ordinance No. 1979-83 of the Municipal Cose of Tiffin, Iowa, by changing the use classification of the real estate described in Section II from R-1 (single-family residential) to R-2 (duplex). SECTION II. Amendment. The parcel of land hereinafter described shall be zoned as follows: From R-1, Single-Family Residential to R-2, Duplex f Commencing on the East Side of Main Street in the Town of Tiffin, Iowa, at a point 91 feet South of the South line of the intersection of said Main Street and U.S. Highway No. 6 (commonly known as Marengo Road) ; thence in an Easterly direction 140 feet; thence in a Southerly direction 75 feet; thence in a Westerly directton 140 feet to the East line of, Main Street; thence Northerly along the East line of Main Street 75 feet to the place of beginning, said real estate being referred to in various deeds as Outlot 2 in Sumrnerhays' First Addition to Tiffin, Iowa, and Lot 2 in Tantlinger's First Addition of Tiffin,, Iowa, all in Johnson County, Iowa. SECTION III. Authorization. The mayor or other disginee of the City Council is hereby authorized and directed to change the zoning map • 4 Ordinance No. -��r 14'8 page 2 of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, which was duly recorded in Book 19, page 53, Records of Johnson County, Iowa, to conform to this amendment, upon the final passage, approval and publication of the ordinance as provided by law. - SECTION IV. Certification. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to certify a copy of this ordinancwe to the Recorder of Johncon County, Iowa, upon final passage, approval of publication as provided by law. SECTION V. Repealer. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION VI. Severability. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the ordinance as a \*hole, or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional. SECTION VII. Effective Date. This ordinance , shall be in effect after its final passage, approval and posting as provided by law. | Councilman Mor.g_an introduced the foregoing ordinance which ' was then duly read and considered by the Council. Mayor declared motion carried. Absent : Eggers. Councilman Morgan then moved that the rule or law requiring three readings of this ordinance on three different dates be dispensed with. Seconded by Councilman Stratton . On roll call vote Councilman Spivey , Stoner , Morgan„ Stratton voted "Aye. " Councilman none voted "Nay".
