AN ORDINANCE RE;,OGNIZING SIM HODGIN AS A GREAT CITY ENGINEER
AND PUBLIC SERVANT AND RENAMING THE VALLEY SEC1"ION OF THE
WRITEWATER BOULEVARD IN HIS 1101-110R.
WHEREAS, Sim Hodgin, twenty years ago, as City Engineer envisioned the necessity
of preserving the natural beauty of the Whi tet-rater Valley; and
WHEREAS, Sin Hodgin was a Great City Engineer and Public Servant, and
WHEREAS,'tine Common Co-;ncil of Richmond,$ndiana, pursuant to Section 48-1447, of
the Burns Indiana Statutes Annotated, has the power to name or change the name of
any street or park;
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Conaon Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
that;
SECTION 1, That the Valley Section of Whitewater Boulevard as shown an the map,
attached hereto and made a part hereof,be rena�iod Sim Hod2in Parkway.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be in full rorce and effect from and after its
passage and approval by the Mayor.
