GATHER AND COFFEE ROLL CALL 9 : 00 A.M. Begin Promptly! I. "BLUE SKY" SFSSION Paint your vision of what you would like the District to be 10 years from now -- Board, staff, and public (3 minutes maximum each) . Consider such topics as (not ' necessarily all topics or limited to) : Land - acquisition goals , special projects. Land Uses - campgrounds, nature centers , special users, relationships with user groups (proactive/reactive?) , programs with private and public agencies. Development - extent of development to accommodate use (how many Monte Bellos?) , preservation, transportation, level of care, cooperative or outside assistance, guiding philosophy. Other District Activities - intergovernmental and public communications , District expansion, special outreach programs, volunteer programs. Finance - special income projects , limitations, finan- cial support organizations or fundraising projects, income producing strategies (such as user fees , agri- culture, concessions) Pitfalls - dangers ahead. 10: 15 A.M. Britton General: 1. District 20th Anniversary Run - Crystal Springs to Mt. Umunhum (55 miles) -- two participants. 2. District boundaries - S.F. to Gilroy (adj . EBRPD) and ocean to bay. 3. Melting poles increases bay surface by 50%. 4. Skyline Boulevard closed to traffic (except locals and public transit. ) 5. Hi-tech surveillance - satelite - less field staff -- only two in land management and ten in land acquisition. 6. Earthquake will expand District acreage by 50%. 7. Hassler and Novitiate will be on verge of settlement. Funding: t 1. No more tax revenue - enterprise provides all revenue. 2. Bottled water sal6s from Horseshoe Lake. 3. Marijuana/opium farms - export to Turkey, Central and South America. 4. Africa USA type operation highlighting species that used to be indigenous to this area. 5. Main revenue sources - motorized trails , pay for backpacking, hiking, bicycling, camping, etc. , (viewing open space) . 6. Volunteers pay for privilege. 7. Mud snail farms on bay. 8. Smog harvest farms. 9. Wind generation/Moonie encampment - Mt. Umunhum. 10. Operate Stanford University - Trustees give up gift land to District. 11. Low income tent city - funded by L&WCF.
