ORDINANCE NO. 2691-1972
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2325-1968 CORIONLY !KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, ADOPTED JUNE 3, 1968.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the Zoning Ma, which is a part of Ordinance No. 2325-1968 designates
and describes as 0-1 Greenbelt District the following described property located at (FAD)
Liberty Avenue, in the City of Richmond, Indiana, more particularly described to -wit:
Lots numbered Thirteen (13), Fourteen (14), Fifteen (15), in the town of
Oakland, now a part of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as laid out by
James M. Poe and Squire L. Hittie.
EXCEPT, Ten (10) feet off the east end of said lots taken for wideninq
of Liberty Avenue, and
EXCEPTING ALSO that part of Lots Thirteen (13) and Fourteen (14) conveyed
to Clifford If. Turner and Laura Turner by deed recorded in deed record 200,
at pane 23, and such exception being described as follows, to -wit: Beginning
at the northeast corner of said lot 13; thence south 55 degrees west with
the west line of Liberty Avenue two hundred and three feet to a point Twelve
(12) feet southwest of a brick barn; thence north Thirty-three and one-half
33-1/2) degrees wost parallel with .and Tv!elve. (12) feet distant from said
barn One hundred thirty-eight fect to the north line of said lot Thirteen
(13); thence east with the north ling of said lnt Thirteen (13). Two hundred
forty-three (243) feet to the place of beginninq.
Part of Lot number Sixteen (16) in said above described Addition, bounded
and described as follows; to -wit: Commencing at the northwest corner of
said lot Sixteen (i6) at the western boundary thereof (the southwest corner
of lot Fifteen (15)• thence east along the line dividing said lots Fifteen
(15) and Sixteen (IC), being the north line of lot Sixteen (16), to the
west litre of Liberty Avenue the same being the oast line of lot Sixteen
(16), and the northeast corner thereof; thence southwestwardly along the
east line of said lot Sixteen (16) and the west line of said Liberty Avenue
to a point on said east line of said lot Sixteen (16). Thirty-three (33)
feet from said northeast corner of said lot Sixteen (IF), thence westwardly
bearing slightly northwardly in direct line to the place of beginning; the
such part of said lot 16 thus being a triangular piece therefrom off of the
north side thereof.
SECTION 2. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to change the zoning
classification of the above described area from 0-1 to R-2.
SECTION 3. WHEREAS, the study of thi Ordinance was conducted by the Richmond City
Plan Commission on the day of , 1972, at which time remonstrances
were heard from all parfies interest or a eels y this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. WHEREAS, the vote of the Richmond City Plan Commission was % to %
in (favor of/--..- recommending the adoption of Ordinance No. 2 9f-197f.
NOW THEREFORE:
SECTION 5. It is hereby ordained that the zoning classification of the above described
property be, and the same is hereby changed to R-2 Single Family Residence District and
that said property be regulated in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, and all amendments thereto.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and publication as by law required.
SECTION 7. The original zoning classification of the aforementioned areas is hereby
rescinded and the zoning classification of this area will he in accordance with Section
2 of this Ordinance.
