AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 96 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN,
IOWA, SAID ORDINANCE REGULATING CONNECTIONS WITH WATER AND SEWER
SYSTEMS, AND PROVIDING RULES, REGULATIONS AND CONDITIONS.OF SERVICE OF
THE MUNICIPAL WATERWORKS AND SEWER SYSTEMS. ~ /
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN°_ IOWA:
SECTION I. purpose. The purpose of this Ordinance is to amend the
present City of Tiffin O1-dinance No. 96, Section /V, so as to delegate
responsibility for maintenance and repair of water meters|to the city.

SECTION II. Amend�ent. Secti on V of ordinance ance No. 96 of the
Municipal Code .of Tiffin Iowa is repealed and Section V is substituted

in lieu thereof:

Section V. All meters and outside visual readers shall be
installed by the municipality at the expense of, the customer. All
meters and outside visual readers shall be repaired andtmaintained at
the expense of the municipality. The municipality| reserves the right to
determine the size and type of meter used.
SECTION III. Repealer. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION IV. Severability. If any section, provision or part of
this ordinance shall be adJudged invalid or unconstitutional, such
adjudication shall not affect the ordinance as a whole, or any section,
provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION V. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect after
its final passage, approval and posting as provided by laW.

Bartels Councilman introdmced the foregoing ordinance which
was then duly read and considered by the Council. Its adoption was
moved by Councilman B���el� and seconded by Coun6i1Man Stratton
On roll call vote CouncilMan Bartels , Eggers , 1Mor]gsn , Stoner ,
Stratton voted "Aye".
Councilman | � voted "Nay". Mayor declared motion
carried.

three readings of this ordinance on three different date4 be dispensed
with. Seconded, by Councilman Stratton . ` On roll call vote

The Mayor then declared Ordinance No. 1989-161 d6ly passed and
adopted on this 13th day of September, 1989.

posting copies thereof in three public places within the iimits, two of
which are the mayor's office and the post office.
