HomeMy Public PortalAbout95-169 (11-07-95)RESOLUTION NO. 95 -169 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING TO ASCERTAIN WHETHER A NUISANCE IS BEING MAINTAINED ON CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY. WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Lynwood has recommended that this City Council find that certain premises within the City of Lynwood may be maintained in such a way as to constitute a nuisance; and ' WHEREAS, certain procedures are set forth in Chapter 3 -13 of the City Code of the City of Lynwood, pursuant to which nuisance may be abated; WHEREAS, the conditions on said property which may constitute a nuisance are: 1. Vacant house with overgrown vegetation throughout the site. 2. Junk, trash and debris scattered throughout the side and rear of the property. 3. Vacant house being used by uninvited guests who have obtained illegal entry. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby resolves as follows: Section 1. Based upon the aforesaid recommendation of the City Manager, this Council hereby finds and determines that the following described property may presently be maintained in such manner as to constitute a nuisance. Such property is described as Lot 017 of Tract Book No. 6186, Page 034, generally known as 4602 Rayborn Street, City of Lynwood. Section 2. The method(s) by which said conditions could be abated include, but are not limited to: 1. Upon obtaining the Entry & Abatement Warrant, clean lot and properly dispose of all overgrown vegetation. 2. Remove and properly dispose of all junk, trash and debris at the site and maintain on an ongoing basis. 3. Secure and maitain sealed all points of entry to the structure. Section 3. The owner of said property, Pearlie B. Cary, may be ordered to take said steps in order to abate said nuisance pursuant to Chapter 3 -13.7. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THIS COUNCIL therefore declares its intention to conduct a public hearing, pursuant to Chapter 3 -13 of the City Code of Lynwood to ascertain whether the ' above described conditions constitute a public nuisance, the abatement of which is appropriate under public power of the City of Lynwood, and, THE CITY COUNCIL hereby fixes the hour of 7:30 p.m., December 5th, 1995 as the time and the City Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road, as the place for said public hearing; and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to serve and post certified copies of the resolution in the manner set forth in Chapter 3 -13.4 of the Lynwood City Code.
