ORDINANCE 1990-165
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF ORDINANCE NO. 134 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN, IOWA, SAID ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE
AMOUNT OF PAYMENT TO ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF PRESCRIBING_
DUTIES
BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIFFIN, IOWA:
SECTION I. Purpose. The purpose of this Ordinance is to provide
for payment of elected officials for the performance of their duties for
t6e City.
SECTION II. As used in this Ordinance, "elected .officials" means
the Mayor and the City Council members.
SECTION III. Compensation for the City Council members. Tiffin
City Council members shall receive compensation according to the
following schedule:.
,
$20.00 for each regular meeting attended by the council member.
$20.00 for each special meeting attended by the council member.
$20.00 for each additional meeting attended by the coumcil member
of the following groups, at the direction of the Mayor or City Council,
and other meeting not listed below which are necessary in conjunction
with duties as a member of the City Council:
Tiffin Planning and Zoning
Tiffin Board of Adjustment
Tiffin Parks and Recreation
Johnson County Council of Governments
Johncon County Civil Defense
Southeast Iowa Municipal League
SECTION IV. COmpensation of Mayor. The Tiffin Mayor shall receive
$500.00 annually as compensation. In addition, the Mayor shall receive:
$20. 00 for each additional meeting attended by the Mayor of the
following groups, and other meetings not listed below which as necessary
in conjunction with duties as Mayor:

SECTION V. Repealer. All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in
conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION VI. Severability. If any section, provision or part of
this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such
adjudication shall not affect the ordinance as a whole, or any section,
provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION VII. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in effect
January 1, 1992.
Councilman Brown ______ introduced the foregoing ordinance which
was then duly read and considered by the Council. Its adoption was
moved by Councilman Brown and seconded by Councilman Stoner .

carried.

The foregoing ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND
ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF ORDINANCE NO. 134 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
TIFFIN, IOWA, SAID ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE AMONT OF PAYMENT TO ELECTED
OFFICIALS FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR'DUTIES was published on the 19th
day of February, 1990 by posting copies thereof in three public places
within the limits, two of which are the mayor's office and the pot
office.
