HomeMy Public PortalAbout09/05/06 Special CCM313 MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 5, 2006 The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on September 5, 2006 at 6:05 p.m. in the Medina City Hall. Mayor Workman presided. I. Call to Order Members present: Weir, Workman, Cavanaugh, Smith Members absent: Brinkman Also present: City of Medina: City Administrator Chad Adams, and Finance Director Jeanne Day. II. 2007 Budget Work Session Adams provided information relating to questions asked at the August 15, 2006 budget work session. Information was provided on the Comprehensive Plan budget and historical expenses, a breakdown of the staff compensation budget increase, tax levy impact on homeowners, and action items needed during the regular session. Discussion was held on the desired level of fund balances. Consensus was reached to continue this discussion until the CIP is more thoroughly discussed later in the fall. Discussion was held on amending the Council/Mayor salaries to spread out the increases over three years rather than one. Discussion was held on removing the high-speed internet feasibility study from the budget entirely. III. Three Rivers Park Barn Discussion occurred on the City's desire to send a letter to Three Rivers Park District requesting that an extension on the demolition be granted. Consensus was reached to add this item to the regular meeting agenda for discussion. IV. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 6: 55 p. rn. Motion passed unanimously. Bruce D.
