A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE APPROPRIATION OF $14,666 TO BE LATER
REIMBURSED BY THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE
MANAGEMENT BOARD FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPLEMENTING THE
USED OIL RECYCLING 1994/1995 GRANT PROGRAM
' WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil
Recycling Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and
maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal of
used oil, and
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, setting up necessary
procedures governing application by cities and counties under the program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood had authorized the City Manager to
execute in the name of the City of Lynwood all necessary applications, contracts, payments
requests, agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing grant funds and to
implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood entered into an agreement with the State of California to
receive funding from the State in exchange for implementing a Used Oil Recycling Grant Program;
and
WHEREAS, in order to implement the City of Lynwood Used Oil Recycling Grant Program
the City would typically enter into a purchase order agreements with various vendors with
payment required within 15 to 30 days upon receiving the ordered items; and
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board prefers to release the
grants funds by reimbursing the grantees for the amounts expended towards the implementation
of the grant program;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE
AND ORDER AS FOLLOW:
SECTION 1 . Authorize the appropriation of $14, 666 from the unappropriated General
Fund to be later reimbursed by the California Integrated Waste Management Board for the
purpose of implementing the Used Oil Recycling 1994/1995 Grant Program.
SECTION 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
