ATION WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale received a new set of flag poles in 2022 from Emma Hupp through the completion of her Eagle Scout Project. WHEREAS, in the summer of 2022, upon completion of the project, we held a celebration for the project commemorating the new addition to our community, Emma's groundbreaking achievement as the first project to be completed by a female Eagle Scout candidate in Scott County, and 100 years of service by the Hupp family to the Riverdale Fire Department. WHEREAS, since this summer's celebration, Emma has since completed all of her requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout and has completed her board of review, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. WHEREAS, Emma Hupp is now Scott County's first female Eagle Scout and has contributed greatly to our community by the construction of her Eagle Scout project. WHEREAS, Emma's project has already been used to honor a fallen Riverdale firefighter, a Riverdale first lady and other regional fire fighters who have passed. THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Anthony Heddlesten, Mayor of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, do hereby proclaim that January 27th as EAGLE SCOUT EMMA UPP DAY In Riverdale, and encourage all staff, residents, and visitors to join me in congratulating Emma on this tremendous accomplishment and thank her for being a great representative of our community.
