A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE COMPLETION OF NECESSARY
BUILDING REPAIRS AND MODIFICATIONS AT THE
COMMUNITY/TRANSIT CENTER THROUGH AN INFORMAL BID
PROCEDURE

WHEREAS, the Community Center Repairs Project, Project No. 5 -5172 is
included in the City's Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 1996 -97; and
WHEREAS, the funding for this project in the amount of $64,500 has been made
available by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and
WHEREAS, the necessary repairs and modifications of the Community Center
building have been identified and the construction phase of the project can begin; and
WHEREAS, the process of hiring contractors to complete the necessary work
can be done more economically and efficiently through an informal bid procedure; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal Code, the
City Council can authorize purchases through informal bids by a 4/5 vote; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That staff is authorized to complete the work associated with the
building repairs and modifications at the Community /Transit Center through an informal
bid procedure; and
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
