A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
PENDLETON AVENUE LANDSCAPED MEDIAN ISLAND PROJECT
THROUGH AN INFORMAL BID PROCESS AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO MAKE THE
NECESSARY FUND APPROPRIATIONS AND TRANSFERS.
WHEREAS, the construction of a new shopping center is
underway at Atlantic Avenue and Pendleton Avenue; and
WHEREAS, as part of this development, the City will
construct landscaped median islands and project entry marker on
Pendleton Avenue just west of Atlantic Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the construction of these improvements will
enhance the project and beautify the surrounding area; and
WHEREAS, funding sources for the project have been have
been reviewed and the only available funding source identified is
Lynwood Redevelopment Agency funds, and
WHEREAS, the construction of these improvements can be
done more economically and expeditiously using an informal bid
process; and
WHEREAS, under Section 6 -3.13 of the Lynwood Municipal
Code, Council can authorize the proposed construction through
informal bids by a 4/5 vote.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council does hereby resolve,
order, and determine as follows:
Section I . That the Pendleton Avenue Landscaped Median
Island Project is approved.
Section 2 . That the City Council authorize the City
Manager or his designee to make the following fund transfers and
appropriations:

Section 3 . That staff is authorized to proceed with
said improvements through an informal bid procedure.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its adoption.
