MARENGO ROAD SPEED CONTROL ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA:
{
SECTION 1 : PURPOSE. The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate
the speed of operation of motor vehicles on U.S. Highway 6 in the City of
Tiffin, also known as Marengo Road.
SECTION 2: LIMITATION ON SPEED OF OPERATION. The maximum
speed for the operation of vehicles on U.S. Highway 6 in the City of Tiffin,
also known as Marengo Road, shall be as follows:
A. 45 miles per hour from 1400 feet west of Roberts Ferry
Road to 500 feet west of Roberts Ferry Road;
B. 25 miles per hour from 500 feet west of Robert's Ferry
Road to 300 feet east of Main Street; and
C. 45 miles per hour from 300 feet east of Robert's Ferry Road
to 150 feet east of the intersection with Stephen's Street.
SECTION 3: PENALTY: Violation of the above provision governing the
hours of use shall be a simple misdemeanor as provided 'under Iowa Code
§ 903.1 (a), which provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment not to
exceed thirty (30) days, or a fine not to exceed one hundred dollars
($100.00).
SECTION 4: REPEALER. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with the provisions of the Ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: SEVERABILITY. If any section, provision, or part of this
Ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
adjudication shall no affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or
any section, provision, or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.

RATIFICATION:
On the day of i't/ , 1994, at a regular meeting of the
Tiffin City jCouncil, Tiffin, wa, Councilperson
introduced Ordinance No. 1994-1S _, and moved that it'be given its first
reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson '5117<<•/j2

Mayor Glen Potter Declared the Motion carried, that Ordinance No.
1 994-_L _was read for the first time and placed on the record.
I Thereupon, it was moved by Councilperson

and rules providing that ordinances be considered and voted on for passage
at two council`meetings prior to the meeting at which it is to be finally
passed by suspended and dispensed with and that Ordinance No 1994-LL`_f_
be placed on its last reading.

Hardware Store, all according to the requirements of Iowa Code § 362.3(2)
