HomeMy Public PortalAbout96-177 (11-19-96)RESOLUTION NO. 96 -177 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PREPARE A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF COMPTON AND THE CITY OF LYNWOOD TO PAY FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THAT PORTION OF BULLIS ROAD WHICH LIES WITHIN THE CITY OF COMPTON BOUNDARIES AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ' EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT. WHEREAS, the Bullis Road Improvement project is listed in the City of Lynwood FY 1996 -97, Capital Improvement Schedule; and WHEREAS, the Bullis Road Improvement project encompasses the pavement resurfacing and the replacement of damaged concrete curb and gutter, drive approaches, wheelchair ramps, bus pads and sidewalks; and WHEREAS, the project limits are the Glenn Anderson, I -105, Freeway to the south city limits; and WHEREAS, due to the configuration of the Compton/Lywnood City boundaries, the project includes improvements in the amount of $20,000 to be done to a portion of Bullis Road which lies within the City of Compton boundaries; and WHEREAS, it will be necessary for the City of Lynwood and the City of Compton to cooperate and coordinate with each other in all activities in respect to the construction of aforementioned construction activities; and ' WHEREAS, the City of Compton has agreed to reimburse the City of Lynwood for the costs of those improvements; and WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood proposes to enter into a cooperative agreement with the City of Compton; and WHEREAS, the agreement will specify the manner in which the City of Lynwood will be reimbursed by the City of Compton for the construction of those improvements which lie within the City of Compton Boundaries. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find, Proclaim, order and resolve as follows: Section 1. Authorizes staff to prepare a cooperative agreement between the City of Compton and the City of Lywnood for the improvements to that portion of Bullis Road which lies in the City of Compton and authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement. Section 2 That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19th day of November 1996. Paul H.
