Call to Order
Mary Schantz called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m.
Adoption of Agenda
Mr. Hoffman moved and Mr. Wheat seconded to adopt the agenda as printed. The motion
passed unanimously.
New Business
A. HPC Brainstorming Session
General discussions were held regarding the current duties of the Historic Preservation
Commission. Members reviewed Chapter 7 Boards & Commissions, Article III Historic
Preservation Commission and Article XXI Façade Improvement Committee; Chapter 8 Building
Regulations, Article IV Preservation & Conservation; Chapter 35 Zoning, Article III Overlay
District Regulations and proposed Chapter 8 Dangerous Building Regulations.
Heritage Strategies, Inc. is nearing completion of the Historic Preservation Plan. Commission
Members reviewed the draft Implementation Chart. The chart identifies projects & activities to
work towards achieving on-going, short term (1-3 years) and long term (4+ years). Commission
members discussed completing surveys on an on-going basis; developing design criteria; HPC
on-going education and public education.
The commissioners decided to hold a second brainstorming session to continue the discussion
of the draft Implementation Chart and other miscellaneous topics. Jayme will send out a poll to
determine the next brainstorming session.

motion passed unanimously.
