High Street Commission Members Present Attendance Record Mary Schantz 8 of 10 Doug Record 10 of 10 Gregory Bemboom 8 of 10 Donna Deetz 10 of 10 Angela Lucero 4 of 10 Commission Members Absent Gail Jones 8 of 10 Steven Hoffman 8 of 10 Alan Wheat 7 of 10 Council Liaison Present Laura Ward Staff Present Jayme Abbott, Neighborhood Services Manager Call to Order Mary Schantz called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m. Adoption of Agenda Mr. Hoffman moved and Mr. Wheat seconded to adopt the agenda as printed. The motion passed unanimously. New Business A. HPC Brainstorming Session General discussions were held regarding the current duties of the Historic Preservation Commission. Members reviewed Chapter 7 Boards & Commissions, Article III Historic Preservation Commission and Article XXI Façade Improvement Committee; Chapter 8 Building Regulations, Article IV Preservation & Conservation; Chapter 35 Zoning, Article III Overlay District Regulations and proposed Chapter 8 Dangerous Building Regulations. Heritage Strategies, Inc. is nearing completion of the Historic Preservation Plan. Commission Members reviewed the draft Implementation Chart. The chart identifies projects & activities to work towards achieving on-going, short term (1-3 years) and long term (4+ years). Commission members discussed completing surveys on an on-going basis; developing design criteria; HPC on-going education and public education. The commissioners decided to hold a second brainstorming session to continue the discussion of the draft Implementation Chart and other miscellaneous topics. Jayme will send out a poll to determine the next brainstorming session. Dates to Remember A. Next Regular Meeting Date, September 10, 2019 Adjournment Ms. Deetz moved and Mr. Record seconded to adjourn the meeting at 12:00 p.m. The motion passed unanimously.
